Does installing the EVIC void the warrenty and why does it have to be from an 04 or 05 Liberty to get the temp to work?

It shouldn't void the warranty. Can't imagine why it would either. It's such a minor modification. But... um, no modification voids any warranty. However, if the dealer can prove that the modification caused the failure, then you have to come out of pocket for the repair, BUT the warranty on the rest of the vehicle is still valid.

The BCM changed in the '04s, and the temp sensor became standard, because it performs some other function along with the EVIC. Pre '04 EVIC/OTIS will still work, however there will be no temp readout.
