Yesterday I couldn't get my 2007 Liberty Sport to start. I had just driven it the night before with no problems, then the following afternoon, it cranks, but won't start, and the little "lightning bolt" ETC light comes on.
I've had no drivability problems recently, so this is a puzzle to me. If I turn it off, and then just turn the ignition to the ON position (without cranking) the ETC light comes on after a couple of seconds (with the accompanying warning bell tone), stays lit for a few seconds, then goes out. Battery is relatively new - less than a year. Just under 120k miles on it, but relatively few problems with it. There's been a lot of rain lately, if that matters, but as I said, it was driving the night before with no problems.
If I can't come up with a solution, I've gotta get this puppy towed, and that's going to suck
