Here is a recent picture of TC after a hard-fought eBay battle:
I received the Jeep wooden box watch today. It is way nicer than expected!
Literally brine new, has the plastic still covering the glass, and also plastic on back.
The original watch band has never been worn, and it is one of the nicest leather straps I have ever seen. The quality is better than other jeep watches..
Well Here it is outside the wooden Box.
There is something different here, notice Japan Movement on the back, even the stem feels quality.
Classic Jeep Timepiece Definitely!
Oh Wow and does it glow in the dark, nice Luminous paint job!
Even Jeep Is stamped on clasp, this is one nice collectors box and watch for sure, this one is special.
nice! is there a way to find out the history of the watch? how many were made, etc I quickly looked a couple weeks ago(or just after your previous post was on this watch)and couldn't find anything. Maybe contact Jeep Motor Company?
Keep tuned in for for more information coming soon and a few more watches arriving that may help to explain things better.
It would be nice to have a catalog of all of the watches but I dont think that will ever happen.
Most of the later or original tin box watches were registered trade marks of Chrysler.
With the transition to Fiat, I'm not so sure how successful I will be in gleaning specific watch info.
Was one or two manufacturers responsible for all these watches?
Time will tell..& story to follow...in the future.
Snuck that one in there on us, didn't you? :icon_lol:
Watch Detective at Work!
If you did not know the name of the manufacturer but believed you may be able to cross reference to another brand by similarity...
Shall we Play... "The who Made The Jeep Watch Game" ??
Name 4 important items that are similar on both of these watches that might help you in a cross reference.... arty52:
I see what appears to be a model number at the six-o'clock position. The rest does not strike me as necessarily being important. (i.e., Lots of watches would share those features.)
Ya that's what I thought at first too. Then I started asking myself some qustions...screwy.gif
1- Most watches are in feet or meters where are the quartz "ATM" depths/timepieces coming from...
2- Ya the JP models 26c..must be a model # from the maufacturer ..
3- Both watches share the same hands...
4- Both watches have a very unique second hand with the two small circles.
Hint..that is what in the end proves who's watches these are. :icon_lol:
The white jeep watch arrived.
Notice where you turn the crown to set time, is similar cased in, as above other brand ha ha..
What is also different about this watch is that it has a real curved almost magnifying type glass.
And the reason for it is, the round circle pattern that is obscure until you tilt the watch..cool! Only hands glow a bit and triangle on second hands glow.
Check out the red marks between the 6 and 7 o'clock position! Notice the black, and now white & shark tooth watches share these red marks..Is it feeding time? LOL
Have to get a battery for it and for something else that just arrived...I'm "pumped" up about that too. :icon_lol:
Edit: Once the back was off to replace the battery, I could hear the watchmaker say from the back room.."Interesting" !!!!
He brings it to the front and says...ha wouldn't you know it...It's really a Citizen watch movement~!!!! (Japan & good Quality)
You're going to need as many arms as Vishnu to wear them all!
ha ha YA...But not all can be worn !!!...
I thought it was "Time" for something different! (That is a bit worn or antiqued) :icon_lol:
Just4jeeps I think sold them way back when, but like everything else, they are always sold out.
Now lets add a cool background and here you can see the Texaco Jeep clock with thermometer on one side...
and the other side is "Octane Gas" side...
Heck why not throw in the 1/18 scale since the background was still up.
The New gas pump clock will sit beside my models on the desk!
Or he could hang them all inside a trenchcoat like the guy in the alley downtown...psst, hey buddy....:icon_twisted:
I have been looking for a folding Jeep Chair ..I found them!!
On an official Jeep Gear Site in Canada. Chrysler Canada Gear
Bunch of cool things there, including pens under Collectables: http://buychryslercanadagear.ca/jeep/default.php
Here is the camo pen:
And Roland Pen:
A good Selection of Apparel also there! ^
I managed to find a new Jeep Hat today. It has a camo forest on it, from local dealer.
There is a lot of stuff available on this site:
Chrysler Canada Gear
There also is the Jeep Gear USA: https://www.gear.jeep.com/welcome.asp
Oh No could the Wooden Jeep watch be dead?
Ya at watchmaker he replaces battery then says it's not working.
My feelings drop to an all time low. Then he states hold on, I have a special Quartz watch tester that might get it going!
So with the back of watch off he places it on this special tester all right, the hands begin to spin and beeping can be heard as it checks the mechanical for 3 minutes.
Then off to the second hands..just like a heart beat..beep beep every second, and the second hand now moves ...oh so far so good he says..
Now onto the coil, let see if this machine can re-energize the coil in polarity..
Zap beep IDK...a screech is heard as if someone is receiving a defibrillator or something..
Heck what do ya know it works again!
Leave it running for a year now he says, the oils were thickened too, after sitting for so many years.
Edit- here is the pic with back off, a bit older Miyota /Citizen movement.
Still working at 3 AM tick tick is good news here.( It's Still Alive!)
I had no idea that you could defibrillate a watch. :icon_lol:
Shark Tooth Jeep Watch Arrives!
First thing I noticed is the face is deep blue and is metal/ real shiny!
I had to break out the LED soft mat lights, to try to capture this photo.
Ya it a beauty ! My first 20 ATM 660 feet divers watch !
At watchmaker again to get new battery, it fires up easily.
Did not get a photo inside but it also is a Miyota/Citizen Movement.
The rubber band is quite comfortable. This one is going to be worn !
Edit: I have been meaning to get a shot of the "Jeep" stem.
All of the other watch stems also have jeep in fine print there too. The divers watch stem is actually locked in place, in above photo.
You have to turn stem counter clockwise a few rotations to unlock it, to pull the stem to set time, nice feature.
The reason divers watches lock, is so that they cant turn underwater, causing a leak. Never turn any watch stem if you are under water.
There are those who like watching Jeeps, then there are those who like Jeeping watches. :waytogo:
Yup and stay tuned..cause more are on their way!
I will give a hint the next one will be a Men's Dress Jeep watch that is unlike any of the others you have seen so far. You could say it's styling and at 40,000 feet right now, just left Miami...
Two Tone Jeep Swiss Movement Watch Arrives!
This is the first example of a Swiss Movement watch. 166 Feet depth- No England ATM rating on this Beauty! It came from Alabama USA.
Oh the reason this watch took so long to get here is they really screwed Up!
It went from Mobile AL to Miami and when it should have come north west to Canada..heck no..they must have looked at the postal code which are similar to England and guess what..they sent it to London UK!!
SO it sat for 3 days in UK while they scratched their heads, then sent it on another direct flight to BC Canada. You could say this package likes to "watch time fly"
It traveled a whopping 15,847 KM or 9847 Miles to get here! :icon_lol:
This photo is the best representation of the actual color. It is like new with awesome Jeep Leather band.
A closer look direct on, Notice no small R (registered trade mark) below jeep
Similar to the wooden box "classic time piece" here is a new version of Go Anywhere Classic Time piece!!
It glows in z dark nicely, like the dots too..
It is on my wrist right now, will have to find another similar leather band, so I can keep the original Jeep band in good shape!
Oh and also in the I want to wear it category, I received another White Jeep Watch to wear. It came without a box, but new battery from England yesterday.
Had to install a spring spacer as it had links missing & was way to short for my large wrists. Jeweler installed the spacer for $12 and now it's comfortable !!
The best one of them all, I have to pick up tomorrow at the post office.
It came from the land down Under..
20 ATM Jeep Chronograph Arrives
All the way from Victoria Australia traveled over 8200 miles!
This watch is large and so is than band width.
No instructions included. On Monday will take it in for inspection..
I don't think the chronograph is working right unfortunately..hmm..
I hope ebay guy will take it back if that is the case.
