All it took to make this cold air intake was some duct tape, pipe insulation, file and hack saw. This has improved performance off the line and on the highway. Total project cost maybe 5 to 10 dollars at the most.

same here and that requires removing that radiator cross member.
With all that duct tape on it, it's going to be extra work, except if renegade04 doesn't have the giant shroud.

Won't the duct tape come off first time you get mud or water on it?

Yes I do have the large shroud on my libby. The duct tape also stays on well once you clean the surfaces it is adhering to well. Overall I think the duct tape is a start and I have plans when i have time to come up with a permanent solution.

I have the 2 fans and big shroud, I've never had to remove my fans/shroud to do an oil change. Really easy to get the filter from under, even back when the KJ was stock height.

grill area, was always going to trim it off at an angle like I did the prototype ( and sold it LOL ) but its worked that way for 6-7 years at least now ( had a thinner hose there before that. As far as water getting in, never had an issue and when driving up creeks just stuffed a rag in

do you notice any difference though?

Yes, as a matter of fact when the grill is off and you rev the engine you can feel it sucking in some air holding your hand over the tube
Been running some type of tube in there since late 05
