Good evening everyone!
Long time lurker, first time poster.
I've got a Jeep KJ Liberty 2006 3.7 Limited. It works like a dream and many times, posts from this forum has saved my bacon and wallet when it comes to odd issues it has had. As such I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what's going on.
About nine months ago, the car stalled at a red light. A scan showed that the CKP sensor was acting up so I replaced it.
All is fine for about 3 months when it happens again, same error. Replace the sensor once more but make sure it's as good a one I can get my hands on.
However, just today I had the same thing happen once more. Error P0335, pointing at the CKP sensor.
Every time, the car would turn off and then turn on like nothing happened after a bit of a wait.
Between replacing the second with the third sensor I ran a full circuit test following the shop manual. All voltages, resistances and pins worked just fine.
Is there a way that something is killing off these sensors? I doubt I'm unlucky enough to get two duds back to back, but not entirely off the table.
I appreciate any ideas, no matter how farfetched.
Thank you!
