DOHC!, That looks nice, It looks just like our motor with DOHC and that crazy looking intake. Should be interesting to see what they messed up on (in the next few years).

Do you think it would be an easy swap to put into KJ's?

Not easy but could be done with a deep pocket book.Never buy a 1st year run of anything new in the automotive world, what for the 2nd+ year stuff after the real world finds the faults and they upgrade.

X2

I agree with all of that.

The specs look good, but looks like alot of things to break, and i hate the intake manifold design. Id still love to have that in the liberty

Pff, that's true for everything. Buy nothing technology-wise first run/year. Always let the bleeding edge suckers work out the kinks, then benefit from their hard times.

Like, how deep?

Like more then you'd want to spend, plus it would be at least 1 year before crate engines would be available anyway.

DOHC is not what you want in a Jeep, you want a OHV engine since DOHC engines are higher revving engines which severely lack low end power which a OHV engine does better in the low end department but worse on the high end.If you use your Jeep like a Jeep you want more low end power.

Just remember the old saying..............

Honda VTEC,torque sold seperatly :D

Looks like you would be right. The power output ratings on the 3.7L Powertech are listed between 800 and 1000 rpm lower than those listed on the Pentastar. However, I have to say, so far all of our first year vehicles have ended up being good decisions. For that reason, my Jeep has the 45RFE transmission and is also prelowered. The only thing mine is missing that could have been had later is the CRD.

This is done on all modern cars and trucks in an effort to lower emissions. You see the lower the ring is from the top of piston the more gas and oil can hide in that small crack and not burn so it gets pumped out as exhaust. This is one of the big design factors in todays engines. So it is a necessary evil from the factory, but aftermarket pistons almost always lower the rings for added strengh.

Kenne Bell had a supercharger (has been discontinued) for the Jeep Liberty 3.7 engine. The high piston rings in the 3.7L caused piston land weakness and failure, a problem that is correctable with forged pistons. Also, a 4.7L supercharger can be installed onto the 3.7, without issue, if a new tube and upgraded pistons are installed.

In 2005 the 3.7 had some changes done, one of them was rings.

production never began with that kit, they killed the idea in the R&D stage when they blew up the engine. The 4.7 kit will not work on the 3.7.
