I was trying to replace my blower motor resistor but the part I ordered has four wire and my stock had five wire. Do I just not connect the final wire and tape it off with electrical tape? I assume the tiny wire was ground and I assume the green wire on the four wire setup is the ground. Has anyone dealt with this?

^^^ That green one in your picture does NOT look like the right one…
Not only is the plug wrong, but the screws are located in a different place

Myself and others here have used a more robust blower resistor BWD RU1040 from a 2001-2004 Chrysler Sebring which fits right into place on our trucks…uses the same screws and plug.

I got mine on "wholesaler closeout" from Rock Auto for $9 plus shipping.

Maybe I will just return this and look for the other one

That's definitely a good idea…the resistor actually gets hot when running on lower speeds so you would want it to be securely placed as well as properly wired!!!

Seafish, is that just more durable, or are there other differences (like different blower speeds)?

It seems to be built more durably yet is still completely plug n' play.
Not at all sure about higher fan speeds, cuz when some fan speeds already aren't working from a failed resistor, and then you replace the resistor, by definition you get more airflow. ;)

Concur 100% with you on the existing plug and the new resistor. Best to mate the picture you have with a parts store to get the correct resistor and buy 2. Its burnt out once already, may as well have a spare on-hand.

I guess I'll just have to buy one and try it. Mine came with a failed resistor (only high speed) and I replaced with the standard one before I heard of the Sebring "upgrade". Still working fine, but I wish speeds 1-3 were lower.

I did not notice any difference in fan speed after putting in the Sebring module.
