This is for the rear shocks with 948's
Which 5100 series will just bolt up without any different grommets or washers, spacers, Ect.........??
My head is spinning from so many different Part numbers and need for this and or that. I read and take notes I bet I have 7 different numbers wrote down...UGHHHH!!!!
Just a simple bilstein 5100 series that bolts up to a 2006 KJ with OME 948's and 1 extra ISO
Please and Thank You

So after several more hours of reading This is what I came up. They all are going to need some sort of washer or bushing or ect....
The difference between them looks to be the length and st ro ke and valving.
Here's what I have found. hopefully this helps others or it might just add to all the confusing SH IT out there.
Once again these are 5100 series Bilstein.
I was not able to find any information on the valving on the #24-185660

Part# 33-185552
full extension 25.930"
full compression 15.910"
travel 10.020"
valving 255/70

Part# 33-104645
same as above just 175/60 valving

Part# 33-186542
full extension 24.35"
full compression 15.12"
travel 9.23"
valving 255/70

Part# 24-185660
full extension 23.680"
full compression 14.630"
travel 9.050"

So if you look up a stock Dodge Dakota they don't make a 5100 series you have to use the 4600 series for that.
But the Part# 33-186542 is darn close to stock numbers.

Stock Dakota
full extension 24.70"
full compression 15.40"
travel 9.3"

So all in all these shocks are all pretty close to the same parameters.
But none bolt right up!!!!!!!
In the end I answered my own question!!!!!
If your still reading and give a Ratt's A.S.S. I'm going to give the 33-186542 a try.. Seems to be the right parameters and right valving.
In the end you either run a 9" or a 10" shock and only real on and off road experience will tell if I chose right. You can do the math and research all day but until there bolted on you don't really know.
All comments and feedback welcome_____________________________

Bilstein 24-185660 is what I run on the 03
ride and handling on and off road is really good
This is the best shock that Marlin ( friend and also owner of JBA ) and I came up with as best one for what I do with the 03 overall
the " stock " Dakota is that the Club Cab 4x4 model ?

Yes I believe it is the stock 4x4 Dakota
And all the shocks mentioned, I believe will work. There all close in the same specs. 1/2” to 1” here and there. I’m going with the 33-186542 just because I know the valving.

Do you have any pics of shims, bushings or whatever you used to mount the shocks.
From what I gather the factory are 12mm and the bilstein’s are 5/8’s
I’ve done custom shocks on many 4x projects. So I’m sure this isn’t going to be the end of the world.

I also found a good part# for rancho 9000’s as I thought of going that direction also but I think they would be a pain in the A.S.S. to adjust.

On aside note is the OME 132l is:
Full extension 24.016”
Full compression 14.173”
Travel. 9.886”

So once again all real close parameters.

I just looked up and bought the 5100's from the search results. My mechanic, postal socks and springs all around, didn't mention needing to get more parts or do anything in particular. I am pretty sure it was just remove and replace.
