Hey guys, I've been looking for a good place to off road. I live in the Southwest suburbs of Chicago and would love to have a place to off road legally. Any answers appreciated, thanks.

The closet, legal wheeling is down in Marseilles, IL - Cliffs Insane Terrain. I know it's about 1 to 1-1/2 hours from Elgin, so it's decent for a day trip.
After that, the next closest legal wheeling would be down at Badlands Offroad Park in Attica, IN. That's probably about a 3-1/2 hour drive each way. Badlands is a lot bigger than Cliffs and tends to be a better location if you're planning a camping/wheeling weekend.
There are other places in Indiana, Michigan, and one or two in Wisconsin... but they are farther to drive to, and might be best for a weekend trip.
