Yeah, it's a good feeling to pay it off.

We've had the car payment auto-deducting from my check and going to a savings account that the bank just took the payment from. Paid the jeep off and just kept the payment going to the account, so we should have a decent down payment when we want to buy our next vehicle.

That small town bank still in business considering it didn't make any money off your loan?

Yep,they probably have more money then some of those bigger banks. They deal mostly with farmers buying land, farm equipment, and cattle. It's nothing for them to handle multi-million dollar checks,I know I have deposited some very high 6 figure checks for my father on many occasions.

Oh and South Dakota doesn't piss on military members like some states do.Heck they state gave me $500 just because I deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Yeah, Minnesota is pretty good about it to. They have a tax credit that's like $50 or so per month that your in a qualifying combat zone. Pretty cool considering I don't pay state taxes either even though i'm a resident. They just write me a check at the end of the year. Nifty.
