Hello,

I have a 2012 Liberty. I had a problem with the air only wanting to blow out of the top vents. I removed the actuator and found that the gear that is on the side of the distribution housing has several teeth broke off. Does anyone know if just the gear can be replaced or will I have to replace the entire distribution housing? Thanks

I had this same thing happen. The distribution box will have to be replaced, which means removing the dash and basically doing a heater core job.

Here is the thread on LostJeeps where I documented the fix. You can totally do it yourself and save $1000 if you take pictures, label wiring harnesses, and go slow. There are 2 YouTube videos embedded in the thread that you should be sure to watch. Let me know if you have questions.
