So I am in a pickle. I am tearing my diffs apart now to regear to 4.10s, so please don't mention gearing.

I am purchasing the Franky Premium II. They advertise that it is a 2.5 inch lift but many people are getting 3-4 inches. My tire choice is BFG K02 265/75R16...until I started looking more closely at BFG K02 in 33x10.5R15.

The overall diameter of the 265s is 31.6 inches and the 33s are 32.5. The width is obviously the same at 10.5 between them.

I am looking more closely at the 33s and I want all your input of this decision. Will 0.9 inch more fit okay? More specifically the rear fender attached to the door. I do NOT mind cutting up the fenders, however, I'd like it to be minimal if possible. I would love to be in the 33 club, haha.

Thanks.

Since you don't want to talk about gearing thats where I will start
4.10s are minimum for 265-75-16s , should have 4.56s especially where you are ( for 265-75-16s . I would never try that size ( 33s ) with out going to the very least 4.56s or lower
Next thing yes Frankies get that amount of lift 3.5-3.75 inches, but need more than that with 33s .

Maybe Troy will stop in and give his 2 cents since he's out there as well

But bottom line , Franky + 4.10s = 265-75-16s ( in something other than BFGs )

if youre gonna wheel it at all with anything with more rolling mass than 245's, better put a DTT in the front or upgrade the front to steel, or both.

With 3.75" of lift and 7" wide rims with 4" of BS you have to do massive cutting of flares and front bumper(pinch weld mod of course along with other "metal folding" to inner fenders on the rear) and will still rub like crazy venturing offroad with 265/75R16's.I know I did that route for a few years.

And 4.10's with 265/75's here in Colorado sucked badly, again I know from experience.

If your dead set on a 32" tire go with 235/85R16's on a 7" rim with 4" of BS,33's will never work besides for sitting in the driveway.

i have around 3.75-4" lift with 16 inch wheels 4bs 7wide and even with 255/70/16's i had to do a pretty decent amount of trimming and the obvious pinch weld fold and have 4.10s sitting waiting to be installed. So i cant imagine 265/75's

I thank you for your input with this. It brought up some different perspectives.

I went ahead with the 33x10.5's. I have done extensive research and I hope I can make this work. I have 15x7s with 4.5 BS, JBA 4" bump stops, extra rear lower iso, which will help a lot. Like I said, I know and do not mind cutting the fenders. Once I flex her up it will show what I have to do. If worse comes to worse I will return them and get 32x11.5.
I will come back to this tread to tell how it was worked out and I will post a new thread of it as well.

Thanks again.

Not to be a smarta** BUT we'll let you try. What you don't realize is that many of us have been on this and other KJ forums for 12-14 years and have seen many try to do what you want to and then have to go back and start over.
Again go ahead and try but with the lift you have etc not going to work well unless you bumpstop it where there is no flex at all.
Also cutting is bad , not much of anything to cut except for bumpers

By the way " what extensive research " ? .................

Funny how someone asks for advice and blows off said advice.

I am not blowing off advise. I respect Tommud and tjkj2002 for their knowledge on the KJ. I just wanted to get more input from the pros. I cancelled the order for the 33s.

I cancelled the 33s. What lift were you running for the 265's?

I wanted to get 33s because I would love to have a larger tire, it just ***** how much the KJ platform limits options...

I was running the old non-soft ride SkyJacker lift that gave me 3.75" of lift.

You will be much happier with the 32" tires, even with 4.10's here in CO you'll notice the power difference even with the 4.10's and be glad you didn't get the 33" tires.I'm running 35" tires with 5.13 gears and that is barely driveable here in CO.

Okay thanks for that info. Your rig is amazing, I saw it down in the Springs last year and nearly gave me a heart attack, haha.
