I just finished rebuilding my '02 3.7L with new heads, main and rod bearings, oil pump, pistons and rings. All this due to overheating and dropped intake valve seat on #6 cylinder.
I stuck a 100# mechanical gauge in the 1/2 inch port next to the oil pressure sending unit close to the oil filter. I wanted to know for a fact it had plenty of oil pressure since it's a complete rebuild.
With new 10-30 wt oil and 60 degree temperature inside the shop it has 62 # of oil pressure at start up idle. I let it run 3-4 minutes then shut it off and called it a day. No drop in pressure :happy107:
Does anyone else have mechanical gauge pressure readings they can share ?
