Recently after a short drive KK fan comes on and stays on until switched off ignition. 2007 KJ fan also comes on, but switches off after idling for a short while.
Can someone please reply .... do I have a problem at hand with the KK, or is this normal? Thanks

Are you talking about the electric fan or the mechanical fan attached to the engine? (You would only have the mechanical fan if your KK has the tow package.)

I’m assuming you mean the electric fan. Check to make sure your climate controls are not set to air conditioning or defrost. These settings run the AC and tell the e-fan to run while they’re on.

Also check the engine temperature gauge. Everything look normal there?

Hi. thanks for replying. It's the mechanical (engine) fan. Just find it strange that all of a sudden the fan comes on after a short drive. 20 degrees Celsius outside. Had the car for 8 years now. Water pump is about 2 years old. A slight leak of coolant lately. Pic indicates a daily leak of coolant

It could be that the fan clutch is worn out and needs replacing. It’s the thing the mechanical fan is bolted to, which attaches to the water pump pulley. This assumes you’re not overheating— does the temp gauge go above 1/2 when you are driving? The coolant leak is a separate issue unless you are overheating.

Thanks for the reply. The temp gauge does not go over 1/2. Coolant reservoir is filled up to full arrow.
