Hey all, owned my KJ for about 6 years. Figure it's time to give it the lift it deserves. I am hoping to go up 4+ inches. I would prefer larger than 265 tires. Is this feasible? Or is it preferable to keep it at 3 inches with 265's?
Not fesable unless you are going to go SFA
There is no longer a good way to get 4 inches, PLUS to run larger tires you need lower gears, for 33s 4.56s at the very least.
Even 265-75-16s would be great with 4.56s
I run 4.10 gearing with 31s and does great.
To go 3-3.5 you have OME 927s/ 948s with extras which include jeepinbyal UCAs up front
Even at 3.5 inches most have spring / UCA contact going over bumps
JBA used to have adjustable coilovers that you could get 4-4.25 inches of lift, but was aslo harder on the CVs
I'd stick at 3 inches or so and 31s
but then some will tell you I know nothing so.....LOL
So OME springs, bilstein or OME shocks for the height
bumpstops, teraflex for front, hockey pucks bolted down to spring perch in the rear
4.10 gearing to compensate for the larger tires
JBA UCAs
