What are the weights for on the front left of the rear diff for?

Anybody else have their right rear brake pads wear faster than the other 3? At 48k miles the pads were worn out while the left rear had maybe another 20-30k left on 'em. Also the outside pad wore more than the inside.

3 lights came on at the same time. I reset the computer but the came back on immediately after. They are - ESP/BAS on upper left of panel, ABS on upper right, & car squealing out sign bottom center. What's broke?:confused: I can't find info on this in book.
