    Hankook DynaPro - Opinions?

For 90% on road they are good tires. I've had the P rated ones for a few years now. I've had 3 flats, one being a sidewall puncture, but they have been pretty abused. I went from 10 ply E rated tires to these, so my opinion on road noise may be skewed, but I think they are pretty quiet for an AT.

Steering rack- best one to get?

I got a reman rack from Napa. Has lasted longer than the stock one. It's a labor intensive job, but not all that hard. The biggest issue I had was getting the steering rod / linkage / whateverthehellistcalled back in place.

    Rebuilt/reman trannies: where to look?

I still have yet to fix mine. I was told 05-06 are the same, ie part numbers didn't change for both years, but there are several variations for both years (if that makes sense). 07's are different somehow. My renegade only shares a trans with the Rocky Mountain edition KJ and there are two...

    Ball joint brands and prices

Buy Moog. RockAuto had them the cheapest last time I looked.

    P0740 tranny code

I had that and a p700 code a year ago. Kept driving it and eventually the torque converter went kaput. Kept driving it then started having hard shift problems. Kept driving it then the trans would overheat. Now am looking for a replacement trans and TC. I would suggest not driving it as it...

New Year's resolution: Get my KJ back on the road

Well, I have replaced just about everything but the motor, trans, and transfer case at this point, so I should be alright. :D I do have the FSM and tools are covered. Hopefully rust shouldn't be to big of an issue; Jeep has lived its whole life in AZ. My name still shows up as Zanazabar? I...

New Year's resolution: Get my KJ back on the road

Cost. Called a few places and just to diagnose what would need to be done costs almost as much as a junkyard trans. I have not looked into rebuilding it myself; from what I understand it is complex and requires special tools. Plan on going with the path of least resistance. Fingers crossed...

New Year's resolution: Get my KJ back on the road

So my poor ol' Jeep has been sitting in my garage for the last couple months, unregistered, and in need of a new torque convertor and transmission. I recently acquired a two-wheeled replacement to take over DD duties so that has relegated the KJ to a off-road / hunting / fun / toy vehicle. So...

    Unknown Front Bumper

Wasn't that Chris' (I think) KJ? How many KJ's do you have Tom? I remember the Sundance debacle. It was a good looking bumper without the stinger.

    Has Anyone Heard From Luke?

Yeah, what happened to Luke? He was a good dude with quite a bit of helpful knowledge. Speaking of people who have dropped off the map, whatever happened to Keswick Dave aka other Dave? He was a mod too right?

    How tough is a KJ?

Yeah they tend to be pretty stout. This guy flopped his and drove it away after righting the ship.

    Arizona

Aww man there is so much dirt to explore in your neck of the woods. I love spending time up there. If I could find work I would move to the Prescott area. Senator highway to CK is what I would suggest. Not sure if it has been raining up there like it has in the PHX area but if it has I would...

    Wandering steering

Look at your steering rack mounts. Mine felt like that when the rack broke loose from one of the mounts. The welds have a tendency to break.

    Arizona

Don't know yet. I know I need a new torque converter and I'm having problems going in and out of reverse. Its parked until I can scrounge up more money when OT kicks in at work. On a different note, Cherry Creek Rd is another mild trail in the Sierra Anchas that is awesome. Can stop and see...

    Arizona

The Wells book is pretty awesome. Where abouts are you located and what are you looking for? Easy, mild, wild, exploration? There are tons of trails. An easy favorite of mine is the Senator Highway from Crown King to Prescott. Really scenic up in the cool pines. Another is the trail near...

How much air in the tires?

32-35 is in the optimal range; I think inside the doorjamb of my '06 it says 33psi. I would be going 20ish psi off road. BUT since you said you can't change the pressure you are stuck rocking and rolling with street pressure. You go less than the recommended PSI you are going to jack up your...
