Ok, so I sold my KJ and now have a few parts left over. I have a Pioneer HU ($35), a lightly used K&N air filter ($25), and a CC servo ($15). Prices are negotiable. Pics of the HU and filter.

Just drop the pan, change the filter(s), then fill the trans with fresh ATF+4. Then you will be back in business and running great (woot)

Huh? My KJ doesn't have ABS and it says to use DOT 3. To the OP: Apparently you can use DOT 4 in your braking system if you would like, DOT 5.1 is also mixable with DOT 3 & 4. However, you should NEVER mix DOT 5 with DOT 4, 5, and 5.1.

Well, KJs don't have any baffles. The resonator is hollow inside. DC did it for the same reason they installed the 42RLE in latter KJs.

I had a link stored in my bookmarks but my computer crashed so I lost it.. I don't think that's the resonator, some vehicles use a little trumpet shaped baffle to reduce engine noise. I do agree that removing it will improve performance.

Have you used a different brand of petrol? Most stations use E-10 (10% ethanol, 90% petrol), E-10 will provide cleaner emissions but will also reduce power and fuel economy (less energy per drop). If you filled up with petrol containing 0% ethanol than that may be the cause of the peppier...

The loss of torque will probably not be noticeable, but if you ran the vehicle on a dyno you will see a reduction in bottom end torque. If you like the sound then go for this mod, but that's the only thing that you would gain. It's impossible for it to make the exhaust sound deeper or for it...
