What's the Best Power Steering Pump BRAND to exchange a worn out Mopar one?

Note ATF+4 has greatly improved lubrication properties. The power steering pump will run much cooler, with less noise !

What's the Best Power Steering Pump BRAND to exchange a worn out Mopar one?

I'd consider a flush and ensure you utilize ATF +4 transmission fluid. In or around 2003 all KJ's came with ATF+4 installed by factory for power steering.

What's the Best Power Steering Pump BRAND to exchange a worn out Mopar one?

Do you see any leaks around pump or lines caused by worn out seals or o rings? Could it be that your 2002 KJ has air entering into the system via the power steering lines? Have you ever added power steering fluid? Note: With the 2002 KJ, most have been converted to red ATF+ 4 transmission fluid...

    Engine Swap

This topic has been discussed & basically the 4.7 does not fit into the engine bay without a huge amount of $ and modifications. There is a major amount of knowledge required to make the new computers to work. You are way better off to simply purchase an 8 cylinder Grand Cherokee. The 3.7 six...

Antifreeze Smell and No Leaks ???

What ever you do, don't add any products like radiator stop leak. That would clog up the whole system . Replacing the heater core is a big job indeed.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Went to adjust standard interior rear view mirror, it flew off & bounced into the passenger seat. Remounting it was easy, as long as you have the small T-bit driver. I guess some blue lock tight should be applied. o_O The upper rear brake lights has the same T-bit, so I used some...

    Mice chewed through wiring harness

Here is direct link to 2003 FSM: http://www.colorado4wheel.com/manuals/Jeep/KJ/2003JeepKJServiceManual.pdf Regarding mice, I place bounce drier sheets & pieces of Irish spring bar soap around the wiring bundle by master cylinder. Moth balls packets do work too.

    Hello!

Welcome to the forums Mike. The correct coolant for the KJ is Mopar Hoat coolant or Zerex G05 only. If any other type of coolant has even been added, you should flush the entire system and use the HOAT.

    My 11 kk wont start

Do you have a VOM meter? What is the battery voltage reading. It should read 12.6 volts. How old is battery? It also could be the starter relay, or possibly the ignition switch itself.

    New member in MN

Welcome to the forums. Sorry to hear about the transmission woes. As the R2RLE is fully computerized, I would have your local transmission shop scan for codes, using a high end shop scanner like a Snap on Modis Ultra. Hopefully then the posted codes, will give you an idea what may be wrong...

    OEM Floor mats

Possibly a good pair of comfortable running shoes with Dr. Sholl inserts may help. The one reason I purchased the black WeaterTech's was to ensure that the liner prevents forward movement, as liner is locked by retainer in place. The last thing you want to have happen is a loose or sliding...

    Radiator cap too much pressure

What brand of cap have you been using ? The Mopar cap is rated at 16 Psi. Only use Mopar HOAT coolant or Zerex G05 ONLY- at the correct temperature rating. With correct coolant adapters, pressurize the cooling system and listen for a leak, & see if it holds pressure. If the wrong coolant had...

    Poxy parking brake

I use a long flat blade screwdriver in glove box to assist holding back the slack in the brake handle /tensioner /adjuster. It should hold jeep at 4 clicks pulling upwards on brake handle, otherwise something is not well. The cheat is too look inside (no need to remove cover) and use the long...
