    Transmission Problem

Actually, if he's got the 2005 automatic, its more likely to be an RFE545.

    loud "hummig" & "rumbling" noises

loud "hummig" & "rumbling" noises The only way is to drive it with someone else with you, who can move around inside the vehicle to localise the sound's origin. That person should be a mechanic, so that they are in with a chance of correctly identifying the problem...

Problems! DOT 3 Synthetic Brake Fluid Yay or Nay?

I had a similar problem after a fluid flush and change. Its either air in the system - especially the ABS, or a seal is leaking or both. I had both, so the seals were replaced and the system properly refilled. As for fluid, I use either a synthetic Dot 4 or 5.1. The fluids are never an issue if...

    Other jeeps

I've only had the KJ. I live in England, and that's Land Rover country, and I didn't get on well with them in the Army. I had bikes! We bought our 2005 CRD in 2006, and have had it ever since. I liked the JK, but the 2 door was too small and the 4 door too large for our requirements, and the new...

    2005 Liberty overheating

Thorough coolant flush certainly, depending on when it was last done there could be a lot of crud/goop in the system. Also check the fan clutch. If thats gone, then the mechanical fan won't engage as the system is put under load.

gas tank recall- am i getting the shaft?

Yep. Basically, if you already had a tow hitch but it didn't provide the required protection, then you got a Jeep - approved tow hitch. If you didn't have a hitch fitted, then they fit a protective beam.

    Scissor Jack Failure

The standard scissor jack is not really a very strong unit. Its only really intended for emergency use in the event of a puncture on a standard vehicle, not for regular use. So in part, it depends how often you've used it, and if your vehicle has any mods. If its any help for the future, I...

    How to unplug ecm?

Be very careful, there could be corrosion in there. I'd give it a soak with WD40 or the equivalent first.

    Brake drum won't fit

Assuming that you're talking about the e brake (handbrake), there are 2 sizes, so you may have rear discs with the wrong size parking brake drum. Don't ask how I learned this.

Where to order a snorkel from? Go ARB or Airflow?

Hi Myke, I'm in England. The Airflow took about 2-3 weeks from ordering, but then it was was coming from Australia. tjkj is mistaken on what you need to do. Firstly, the snork is simply a raised air intake; it lifts the intake to where you get cleaner air coming into the box. If you do a lot of...

Where to order a snorkel from? Go ARB or Airflow?

All I can say is, that I've had an Airflow on mine since before Safari brought theirs out, and it's been fine. Quality seems good and the finish is very good.

21" bosch evolution wipers $1.99 + $5 flat rate shipping

I've used these wipers on mine for the last few years, initially in 19", and 21" since last year. They are probably the best I've had in the 11 years I've owned my KJ.

Yep - not on the 05 export model either, which is a shame, because it would be useful.

Am I too short for a Liberty without pedal extenders?

I agree with Jim. My wife is 4' 11" and has no problem driving our KJ, but it does depend on your particular anatomy.
