Some pics from a local trail.

Nice pics. I didn't know that you had an ARB?

I got check engine light.. darn

Well, it's not accesory for one thing, it's the run position. It took me awhile to get it to work also. Keep trying, it'll come up. Accesory is back from the lock position, where run is the spot before you turn the starter, or where the key returns once it is started.

    The Gauntlet

The line required me to turn back hard passenger. Had a little driver/spotter miscue and the tire/wheel was turned hard into the rock. Application of throttle and bang, one broken CV. I've got a set that should be here this week. They are supposed to be six times stronger than the stock units.

I got check engine light.. darn

I can't imagine how that could have happened. I'll have to talk to my wife.

    The Gauntlet

Yeah, came right down off of it. The big rock in the drivers side foreground is the one that took out my CV though. I'm not real sure if the back tire came off or was just balancing close to it, I was too busy watching body hungry rocks.

I'm interested to see what code you pull up. This is what I got: 456 A small leak has been detected in the evaporative system!

As I heard a loud CRACK!!!! I realized...........

I heard a "CRACK" also, but mine was a busted CV shaft.

    What Tires Will Fit

While I'm not familiar with the Rusty's lift, I'd venture to guess that you are going to experience substantially more rubbing due to less net lift height.

    Less than Flattering Review

Less than stellar ground clearance, little bitty tires, lack of a locker, and dismal power show that the Liberty in stock form is more Mall than Crawl. There review seemed pretty truthfull to me. Now why you would put a 4x4 Ute on a skidpad is beyond me.

For those with Jeepin Al's A-Arms

Have you tried pushing it on a bit harder to make sure that it is engaging? Never had a problem with the uppers, but the new Moog lowers were a PIMA.

    What Tires Will Fit

I have a 2.5" lift (ha ha) and a true 31"x10.50" tire, on a 15"x8 wheel with 3.750" backspacing, with no trimming and minimal rubbing. Of course the pinch weld did need to be beaten over, I rolled the rear fender lip under the rear door flares and secured the flares using aluminum rivets...

    Wider Stance

The stock tires on the Liberty, just suck, period.

    My Liberty concept

My only question would be why? The Liberty already has a dreadfully small cargo area and that makes it smaller.

KJ gas Mileage better than a Honda's

Wow this thread has turned gay. Sure, the CRV isn't a trail rig, especially with it's IRS. The KJ in it's stock, barely able to crawl a curb form isn't much better. You've got to throw a ton of money at a Liberty to turn it into a moderately capable trail rig.

    Work Commutes

I drive 54 miles one way to work, it takes an hour in the morning and an hour and fifteen minutes at night. I only drive one week out of three due to carpooling. When I do drive to work it's in my Civic that gets 38 mpg, the KJ uses a half tank of gas on one days round trip! (Aeh)

Jeep Trip Report! Imogene Pass and More (Lots of Pics)

People on the East coast don't understand why I scoff everytime they refer to these big hills as mountains. I miss the beauty of mountains of the Southwest. Great pics, thanks for sharing.
