    Rusty's 1/4" spacer -- ease of installation??

So I got my front hitch, skid plates, and winch all going, now the front end's a little low, the .25 spacer plates should do all I need...how tough is it to unbolt the strut towers and get those plates in there? Looks like the air box and battery have to come out of the way...do the springs...

    #*^%)*!@### belly shields

Why is this so friggen complicated? Here's the deal. I have an '02 pre-lowered liberty, it has the off-road package, meaning it already has the front end shield, transfer case shield, and gas tank shield. The transmission pan, however, is hanging out in the wind waiting to get slammed into a...

anyone got experience with a Wayfinder compass?

They look pretty slick to me, especially the new 7500. Does even more than the factory EVIC/OTIS...better compass, atomic clock, temp, etc. etc.. Anyone ever tried one out? For $130 seems like a bargain. If you don't have a clue what I'm talking about here's their website...

what's with the square hole in the rear door?

gotta 2002 Sport, there's this square hole about, oh, 6" square, on the inside kinda near the right side of the door (vehicle side) on the inside. Is this used for something in the Limited or Renegade? Looks like maybe a bomb compartment or something should go there. Anyway if you know, pass...

    Slip Yoke discussion...

So I'm under my Liberty the other day installing rock rails and got a good look at the NP xfer case that runs the same stupid slip yoke the Wrangler guys are always cursing. What a stupid stupid design, having the U joint that far out on a shaft is inherently weak. Anyone had problems with it...

    A Pleasant Surprise

this 2002 I got continues to make me smile. When I bought it there was no build sheet for it, so I didn't know it had the off-road package or the Trac-Lok. I also didn't know it had the Infinity speaker package (oh yeah it sounds nice) until I got a build sheet from a dealer. Well, today I...

If you have heated seats on an early KJ please answer this:

Where are the switches for the butt warmers? My father in law had a KJ and I remember them being in the center console. I'm curious to know, because IF they are in the center console I want to use those positions for the off-road lights I'm adding (I don't have butt warmers). If the switches...

finally got my Liberty! question about auto door locks--

Finally sold by bike Christmas Eve (someone bought it for a Christmas present, can you believe it!?). Picked up a sweet clean EARLY '02 Sport. Couple questions: 1. how can I disable the stupid automatic door locks? :-k There's nothing about programming them out in the owner's manual...

tire fitment for all jeep vehicles

The current issue of JP (December 05) has tire fitment charts for ALL Jeep vehicles in all states of lift in easy-to-read and colorful graph format. Downright handy. Wonder if they'd let us post those graphs here? They don't like Libertys anyway, so maybe we just shouldn't ask. Anyway here's...

set-up idea OME springs AEV rims--waddaya think?

So my idea would be to use the Emu medium springs, as I'm more interested in an improved suspension than just jamming in some spacers, them use the 16x8 rims AEV makes with 4.75" backspacing. I'm hoping this setup would allow 265/70 tires with no rubbing (unless you bottom something out of...
