    Misfire

I should probably start a new thread, but thought that I would put an update here for anyone following. Injector didn’t fix the issue. Finally got a compression test and confirmed either head gasket/crack in head on the passenger side. Cold compression was low, once up to temp it has good...

    Misfire

Just an update: The misfire on #2 came back. Turns out fuel was leaking through the injector back into the electrical plug. Wouldn’t have believed it if I didn’t see it.

    Kk engine knock

Still haven’t figured it out. Definitely not the lifters. Changed the Alternator a couple weeks ago and knock is still there. Had the Jeep in the shop for a misfire code yesterday, and had them see if they could narrow down the knock. They didn’t have any luck. Although it bothers me I quit...

    Misfire

so far so good!! Have about 150 miles and hasn’t thrown a code yet. It is looking like the MAP was the culprit.

    Misfire

Just put in a new MAP sensor in today. Seeing that it is a common misfire issue.(not convinced that is my issue) Will report back after a few days

    Misfire

The KK has been performing great, and had a long summer. Recently started throwing a code for misfire #2, and a multi cylinder misfire code as well. Swapped the coils around to see if it would follow the cylinder and it is still throwing #2 cylinder misfire. Plugs look surprisingly good. Can...

    Kk engine knock

Sorry I haven’t been very active. Has been a long summer. 20k miles and I still have the knock. Assuming it is the alternator but Im not 100% have some yearly maintenance to catch up on, so I might just swap it out and see.

    Radiator surprise

The $$ tally keeps going up. Ran to town Monday for a haircut, and had steam coming from under the hood. Turns out I developed a pin hole in the radiator (directly below the latch on the front). Tried the JB weld trick Monday night and went to bed with fingers crossed. Let’s just say I replaced...

    Another KK lift

Got the lift installed, and have have about 300 miles on it. Jeep drives great! A little stiff to me, but my last 200k miles have been in a dually Duramax. That being said I would 100% do it again, and look forward to getting it broke in. Will post an after picture later today.

    Kk engine knock

3 days at the shop, and I am no further than when I started. Shop says they have no idea what the knock could be. Left them scratching their heads. Although it makes me feel better about myself, it doesn’t help track this down.

    Kk engine knock

I looked pretty close. If it is wobbling it is very little, if at all. Checked for any kind of looseness by hand and seemed solid. It does have surface rust on it as expected. Crawled under Jeep with serpentine belt on again yeterday, and would swear the knock is coming from the flex plate/TC...

    Kk engine knock

Changed belt tensioners this morning for peace of mind. No change I’m stumped might have to see if a shop can figure out

    Kk engine knock

Everything spins free and seems tight. Tiny bit of play on the power steering pulley.

    Kk engine knock

Had some time this afternoon, and pulled the serpentine belt (needed to change it anyway) and to my surprise no knock. New belt back on and started knocking again. Rookie mistake I guess.. I thought the knock sounded too deep to be an accessory, but guess I was wrong. Thinking it must be...

    Another KK lift

Tom, I appreciate your reply! Being an ex TJ, and KJ owner I used to spent much of my time over at lost(almost 15 years ago). And some of the build ideas seemed to be very unfriendly for highway use I thought that it would be worth my time to mention that this kk was going to spend 99% of its...

    Another KK lift

I am pretty surprised as many times that this has been asked that there isn’t a sticky here in the KK lift section. I realize that the KJ’s use a lot of the same parts, but lots of confusion on rear springs and shocks 948 vs 731. There are lots of KJ posts in the KK thread. Did lots of searching...
