Help me decide which driving lights to mount on the bull bar

I recently went through a similar decision process, round Hellas (500's), oval PIAA's or rectangular Cibie's. Like you, I had them sitting on a shelf in the garage and thought they should be put back to use. My personal opinion is that the Liberty looks best with a circular lamp, so I went...

    Solar panels

Solar panels are rated at the maximum possible output under ideal laboratory conditions. With the sun at exactly 90 degrees to the panel, not a hint of a cloud or any shading, the perfect temperature (both too cold and too hot will lower the output) etc. Being retired, my wife and I spend a...

    clunking noise up front

I have not replaced the tie rod ends, they seem to be ok. If it was the tie rods I would expect to hear the noise in 2wd as well as 4wd but that isn't the case.

Slydog, I live here in Durango and although I don't have a trailer that would haul your Liberty, if there's anything I can do to make things easier don't hesitate to let me know. You can reach me at 970 238 0395 if needed. Keith

    clunking noise up front

Thanks for the thoughts and suggestions. I guess I'll try the bearing and seal refresh and hope that clears up the issue, it's much less expensive than going for a new diff. Fingers crossed.

    clunking noise up front

I found that the diff was a little low on lube today. I topped it off and the noise is not as loud but still there so I guess that pretty much tells the story. My next question would be does this mean that there is play in the gearset or would a rebuild kit (bearings and seals) tighten up the...

    clunking noise up front

Once again I'm coming here hoping to find answers to life's questions. I had a clicking clunking noise coming from somewhere in the front end only while in 4wd (high or low range). It's not a deep heavy metal clunking, more of a higher pitched clunk, the best description I could give of the...

Front end alignment issues after lift

Thanks Tom, I didn't realize it was Rocky Road but it is quite a bit taller than the stock plate. I've pulled them both out and replaced them with the stock plates and all is looking much better. I'm out of town this week visiting family but I've got an appointment for an alignment next...

Front end alignment issues after lift

Once again I've learned something new thanks to the observant eye's on here on the forum. The top plates that I received when I bought the used parts were indeed taller than the original plates. When I removed the stock struts I was focused on the isolaters and didn't notice the difference in...

Front end alignment issues after lift

Also, I'm pretty sure that the clevis is as far as it can go, there is a raised section on the bottom of the strut if I'm not mistaken. I'm writing this as I sit with my morning coffee so I'll have to verify that after I'm fully awake. Again thanks for all of the comments.

Front end alignment issues after lift

Those were the upper shock mounts that I got from the guy that I bought the springs from. He gave me a pair of 1/4" steel plates that he had used above those but I didn't use them. I'll pull them off and try the factory mounts, maybe that's the issue. Thanks for all of the comments and...

Front end alignment issues after lift

You make a good point about the front end of the Liberty being completely different from the Wrangler. The guy seemed very interested and involved in my issue, but maybe he just isn't familiar enough with the independent suspension setup, not sure. Here are some pictures I took, hopefully...

Front end alignment issues after lift

I'm having some issues with front end alignment after lifting my 03 KJ. I got a set of OME 927 front springs and Bistein shocks and also installed the JBA uca's. After putting it all together and exercising the suspension the center of wheel to lip of fender flare is at 24 1/4" which is a...

Need your advice on front suspension issue

Thanks Tom, I figured out the tie rod and sway bar part yesterday, it was one of those DOH! moments. Things moved along much easier after that. My Dad always said I had to do things the hard way before I'd learn, I guess he was right.

Need your advice on front suspension issue

After getting some good advice from the members of this forum on what parts to purchase to lift my 03 KJ I have bought all the bits and started the work. The rear end went very smooth but I'm running into a problem with the front end that I hope someone can help me with. I'm using OME springs...

    Newbie with some suspension questions

Hello, I just registered so I'm a newbie on this forum and also somewhat new to the world of off roading with 4 wheels. My wife and I live in southwestern Colorado and I have spent years riding the jeep roads in our area (Silverton, Lake City, Ouray, Telluride) on dirt bikes. My wife was never...
