Protocol for Jeep liberty ‘04 3.7l for OBDII reader

Hi all. I got a OBDII mobile scanner to check engine diagnostic and also just track fuel consumption and stuff. Using the Car Scanner app. But it won’t connect to my cars ECU. Does anyone know why? Do you know what protocol is used or supported in the Liberty ‘04, does it support ISO 14230-4 KWP

    Optimum RPM in top gear

Thanks for that. Interesting data capture. And ya that’s one thing about the Jeeps, they definitely are not aerodynamic at all. But hey that’s not a major. Thanks for you help. Will definitely be doing a bit of testing myself running with your info. I’m currently also doing about 12mpg in city...

    Optimum RPM in top gear

Yes thanks, also knew wind resistance would hurt at speed. Just wasn’t sure at what speed it starts to affect you. In top gear at 2000rpm I’ll be doing around 62mph.

    Optimum RPM in top gear

I’m glad someone has done a test and experiment with this. Thanks for the information. I was also wondering about wind resistance knowing that would be a factor, just didn’t know at what speed wind resistance would start to effect mpg. I will give this a try at that speed and check it out...

    Optimum RPM in top gear

Hi guys. Anyone have an idea of what would be the optimum rpm to drive my Jeep liberty ‘04 in top gear on the highway for best fuel consumption. I’ve heard stuff about running it at the rpm where you get the full/top torque of the car. So look at the torque curve, and where it peaks, run the...

    Stock stereo not working

Hi guys. So my stock stereo in my 04 liberty Renegade isn’t working. It just won’t turn on or do anything. If I press the clock button, it displays the time for a few seconds as normal. So that means power must be getting to the stereo? But that’s the only button that works. Have checked fuses...

    Fuel consumption

Your mileage is good dude. But thanks for that info. I’ll definitely have to look into my gear ratio then. That could be my problem from what you have said here about yours.

    Fuel consumption

I’m getting 15mpg highway and 9mpg city. Got slightly larger tires, 265/70-R16. Spark plugs have been replaced regularly with correct ones. And yes using fully synthetic 5-W30 oil. Thanks for this advice about CAI, will have a look at maybe putting a free flow exhaust. It seems I’m not...

    Fuel consumption

Hi guys. I have a Jeep liberty renegade 2004, and the fuel consumption has been pretty bad. So I was wanting to do some upgrades to help with the consumption. Does anyone have any knowledge on wether doing an upgrade - a cold air intake and a free flow exhaust - will improve the fuel...

    Viscous fan clutch

This one is working fine so far. But if I ever have to replace I will remember and look into getting the Hayden brand. Thanks for the advice.

    Viscous fan clutch

T Yeah thanks it was a faulty part. Replaces the part and it’s working now. It was a Mopar part.

    Viscous fan clutch

It stopped working. It wouldn’t engage the fan. So when looked into it, it wasn’t hardening/thickening (the viscous oil) up when the engine got hot so wasn’t driving the fan anymore.

    Viscous fan clutch

Hi guys. Just a quick question on the fan clutch. I have a 2004 kj 3.7 petrol. Mine packed up a while ago so I replaced it with a new one, and now that’s also packed up, after only a month or so. Could there be something wrong with the car causing the clutch to pack up? Or was it just a faulty...

    Boiling in coolant tank

Hi guys. Just wanted to check. After driving my 2004 renegade for a fair distance with AC on, once I stop of turn off the car it sounds like it’s boiling… when I lifted the hood I saw bubbles being forced back into the coolant tank. But the car is not over heating and temp gauge is working fine...
