I had a mysterious clunk that turned out to be the motor mounts.
Not what I thought at first but putting it up and getting under it and to those mounts takes a little work but dang....it worked.
My 2006 CRD did the same thing a couple weeks ago.
The battery was reading 10.6 volts so I replaced it.
Some change in the lights on the dash.
The alternator test showed a 11.5 voltage output so with 160,000 miles it was time to change the alternator and then cleared the codes and no prob...
Any cetane based diesel cleaners work well and don't forget to use the BEST oil you can find
I use Mobil 1 heavy duty turbo diesel oil.It will help all around.

Crd clean up can be done with a diesel additive. Not sayin' what I use but, it is available from Vatozone or...
Takes a tank or 2 but solves that problem and you just use it every 10 tanks or so.

I have one we purchased in 06 with 15 miles..
I know it needs a 2500$ in maintenance so that's why I ask and that's only the 100,000 mile replacement of all the things behind the panel behind the serp belt.
Cost me 1000$ doing 8 hours of fun tearing it apart to get to...
It is the Transmission.
CRD's that came to America had a gasser ****** and had insufficient press. at low RPMs to operate correctly.
It cost 7500$ to completely rebuild the ****** with higher pressure pump, better solenoids etc.
Got 160,000 miles on it and it is the garage and I drive it several...
Second the kroil and X the WD40.
That crap acts like glue when it dries.
Happened to me in Utah.
Salt and water will creep anyplace it can and that window latch has been a sticky guy twice in 16 years.
Never replaced a switch.
Had to open the gate wiring harness up once because it makes a bend...
Have you taken apart the head and looked at the valve gear?
