Has anyone done a change from swing to lift gate?

Just got in a set of new slip on rocker panels for my 2003. I'll be cutting the others out and spot welding the new ones in. Any tips to prevent further rust infestation? I plan on painting the parts inside the vehicle and using bed liner on the outside, fogging oil internally

Looking for a set that fits without trimming. What works for you guys.

Just picked up a nice used 2003 sport, needs a few fixes here and there looking forward to many years of fun with it
