Check your O2 sensors. They may not always throw a code themselves, but they can cause improper fuel supply—misfire, stumbling, stalling, etc...
Also make sure you’re using the right spark plugs.
Did the misfiring happen randomly one day, or was something freshly replaced?

How hot did it get and for how long?
What do you mean about the drain plug? Is it leaking from there?
If it’s constantly knocking, maybe look into “piston slap”, but you would have had to straight cook the engine or run out of oil, I believe.

I’ve heard that the lunchbox lockers have some—unpleasant—road manners sometimes. If you made sure everything was within proper tolerances after you installed it, then you should be good. I’ve only heard on one instance where someone’s locker was popping all the time and eventually grenaded—but...
FINALLY installed my after market oil pressure sending unit. Now my gauge actually shows something! Put info into the write up I joined six years ago...

Here we go!
6 years
3 houses
And 2 kids later...
I finally go around to doing this!!!
Started with these parts.
The brass T goes where the stock oil pressure sensor is (right above the oil filter).
The original sensor and the braided steel tube both screw into the tee AFTER you install it...
You might want to look into whether it’s legal to fully disable TC while on public roads as well—I remember hearing somewhere that it’s illegal to do so if your vehicle came factory equipped with it. Your dash will also be a permanent Christmas tree and will probably mess up your ABS as well...
Are you sure you hear the doors moving? The direction door on my 2008 got stuck and caused the door motor to break the gear and jump the track. I could hear the motor working, the the door itself didn’t move. You can confirm whether the motor and tracks are working by looking up under the dash...
The safety switch isn’t working. Try starting it in neutral instead of park. If that still doesn’t work, there’s a neutral safety switch as well. Either way, you could jump those switches as a test and replace them for relatively cheap if it starts up after that.

I don’t remember if you ever had the tires rebalanced, but when I was tracking down a vibration it turned out to be an unbalanced tire. Their weird part is that it never felt anything like the unbalanced tires I had in the past.
A combination of front driveshaft rebuild and a tire balance...
On Oahu, it took three weeks to get parts and a full week to install. I had to get the cables replaced to pass inspection.

This is the EXACT reason I traded in my Explorer for my Jeep. The Explorer started giving me the “timing chain rattle of death” and a repair was more than it was worth.
Back in 2010 the 5.0 Explorer was an amazing find that would run forever...but I bet they’re all above 200k now.
Anyway...
Saw a Cherokee rear end a Grand Cherokee on the highway once. Ironically due to a fire truck responding to an accident there, causing traffic to go from 55 to 0 pretty quick. I locked up the wife’s minivan and stopped behind the Cherokee but watched them total their vehicle on the GC. I checked...
Probably added in ‘09?
I had the dash apart on my ‘08 this past weekend to fix the mode door and I definitely don’t have a filter back there behind the glovebox. It looks like one COULD be there and Jeep just decided to not do it yet in ‘08.

Don’t give up yet! It was a long time ago, but someone posted about ADDING the filter to their KK because theirs didn’t come with it either. Do some searching online because it’s definitely been done before.
