kid just discovered that for his 1999 dodge dakota 3.9L v6 5spd manual 3.55 geared 31" tired truck that: he has a 20 gallon tank his fuel gauge is accurate he's getting 13.1mpg :D- sota

2007 jeep liberty 4x4 (176000 miles)ticking noise
could be an exhaust leak. mine developed a tick earlier this year, also from the driver's side. it's not a lifter tick I know that. it sounds more like exhaust. I need to get under there and see if a bolt/stud broke, or if it pushed the gasket out.- sota

totally understand the mission creep problem. axle and the one seal, that's what I'd do. not unless you're REALLY feeling like doing the front re-gear, *AND* are already prepared to get the rear done before the winter season hits.- sota

Which automatic gearbox oil?
I'm wary of anything that calls itself "suitable substitute." Several manufacturers make ATF+4, so I'd say just get the "real" thing and be done with it. It's also probably your power steering fluid and transfer case fluid. Chrysler "standardized" on it for a lot of applications.- sota

Cold Start fine but Warmed up it struggles. Vapor lock or CPS?
this sounds similar to my problem. Go to start the jeep after driving someplace and letting it sit for a bit, and it sputters and coughs and eventually dies. Cycle the key and it starts right up. My gut feeling is, something to do with the fuel pressure regulator or fuel pump. But it doesn't do...- sota

Where's the evap Vent valve???
once you found the loose BCM connections, it's time to clear all codes and drive it for a bit. and don't be surprised if the LDP/ESIM goes out on you sooner rather than later. these rigs are getting old, the LDP/ESIM are in a harsh environment place, and they're going to go bad.- sota

mine crapped out sometime before 100k. to be fair, my jeep's electrical system gets the crap pounded out of it every winter. running the plow puts a pretty good shock load on the electricals. also an 06 and 07 have different alternators. ask me how I know.- sota
