I engage 4x4 only on gravel roads. I think it is a bit safer than 2wd. I must say though I have gone up to 100 km/h.

When I drive in standard 2 wheel drive, no noise. As soon as I put it 4WD high, I get a real nasty whining noise from the front that sounds like a solid diff that is packing up. Any thoughts on this ?

I also have the sport model, but when starting, on the dash the abs check light comes on with all the other lights and then goes off with all the other lights. Would that be there if it did not have abs? How would I know if I did not have abs to start with?

Can any one maybe shed some light on a problem I have with my 2002 KJ 2.5 CRD. For some reason the ABS does not work but no warning light comes on. I only found out that it's not working when I had to make an emergancy stop and the brakes locked up. Went testing it on the gravel and all four...
