Dome light wont turn off ....

In the 2003 manual, the middle is B+. If you don't have an EVIC it can be tricky to know which door is open. The manual says it can be diagnosed with DRB3. I don't know if it can be diagnosed with an OBD2 scanner.

Replacing rack and pinion bushings w/o removing it

Create Steel had replacement procedures. I'm not sure if they're still posted on their website. It looks like you need to remove the differential mount, steering shaft and tie rod end.

Project to divert KK coil to KJ

The plastic rain cover at the entrance to the air cleaner box broke, so I made one out of t=1 aluminum plate. It was fixed with double-sided tape (VHB). It looks like I've managed to hide 90% of the intake that is visible through the gap between the hood and grill when looking at the car from...

Rusted E16 external torx bolts for wheel bearing.

I found one with 12 points, but it seems weak. It's cheap, so it might be worth a try...

Transmission Fluid in Transfer Case - 2007 Jeep Liberty 3.7 L

Thank you KJowner for the additional information. It seems like one cup of ATF moving in six months is too much. From experience, when there was about 500cc less ATF in the transmission, there was more shift shock. 500cc is probably about two or three cups.

Project to divert KK coil to KJ

When I was replacing the right valve cover, the breather hose fell apart, so I rebuilt it as needed. Starting from the engine side, I attached a 90° radiator hose, oil separator, oil-resistant hose, PA66 elbow joint, and oil-resistant hose, in that order. All hoses have an inner diameter of...

Transmission Fluid in Transfer Case - 2007 Jeep Liberty 3.7 L

In that case, you'd be better off worrying about the amount of ATF in the transmission. Since that amount will be transferred to the TC within six months, it's probably best to plan to replace the seal within a year.

Project to divert KK coil to KJ

The plastic valve cover arrived. The gasket is soft rubber. The lip of the gasket that touches the head is flat. The bolts reached the specified torque after the sleeve touched the head. For now I've just replaced the left side that was leaking. Completely fixed. It's strange that they didn't...

What did you do to your jeep today?

But I would be in trouble if this method completely fixed the oil leak. The plastic valve cover, which cost $120 including shipping, has already been shipped. By the way, the original grommets were 6.5 to 7 mm thick. If you have a steel valve cover, you shouldn't trust the grommets that come...

What did you do to your jeep today?

The valve cover is still dripping oil. I removed the grommet from the mounting bolt and checked the tightening, but it was only compressed by 0.5 mm. Perhaps a plastic valve cover grommet was included by mistake. The grommet was only 5 mm thick. While I wait for the plastic cover to arrive, I am...

    Engine/Crankcase Breathers

I am trying to do this to lower the pressure inside the crankcase. The breather hose connected upstream of the throttle is basically supposed to suck in air, but in fact it expels oil, so it doesn't just suck it in. When the pressure around the intake manifold becomes higher than the atmosphere...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I replaced the head cover gasket probably about two years ago. Recently the oil leak has recurred, so I'm attaching a tin can to a position where oil is likely to drip and checking the amount of leaking oil. I drove 470km on a weekend trip and leaked this much oil, but I attached the can close...

    Shock Recommendations

The rubber bushing can wear down to the point where a gap appears between the mounting eye's inner sleeve and the rubber bushing. When this happens, it's time to replace the shock itself. However, the noise can be silenced by replacing it with a spindle-shaped tapered bushing. The oil inside the...

chasing the elusive front end clunk

It's the same situation as continuing to ride a KJ in Japan. I had the bushings replaced at a shop. To remove a stuck bushing with a C-clamp, you need to apply about five times the torque of the wheel nut. If you can remove the bushing by destroying it with a saw or chisel, the rest of the...

chasing the elusive front end clunk

If the steering rack side seal has deteriorated, the rack rod may become loose. You can check this by shaking the extended side of the rod during full steering. If you replace the clevis bushing, it is a good idea to also replace the LCA mounting bushing. It will probably be easier to replace it...

If you're looking for a generic product, there are several available under the name "wiper cowl seal." They are all nearly identical. If the shape and size are right, I think you can use it. https://www.amazon.com/LLII-Windshield-Molding-Weather-Stripping/dp/B0CY4GWL9B?th=1

    Rear sway bar

The rear sway bar has a strange structure. The effect is limited because it is not connected to the vehicle body. It appears to be controlling yaw rather than rolling. In addition, it seems to take away the freedom of the LCA bush and reduce the load on the UCA pivot. I keep it attached, but I'm...
