That could work as long as they are full power units. The problem is they don't normally get out very far. Ask around and see if anyone has a pair that you could try before buying. Deer hunters use they sometimes. I'll check around to see if anyone still makes a quick disconnect for...- fulltimer

By hooking up a CB the way you describe you will pickup any electrical noise in the electric system. The best way is to run a fused line directly to the battery. Terry -

You can't pick up the police on a CB. CB= Citizens Band. I have mine mounted on the right side of the hump, angled back a little. It's a Galaxy DX-959 moded to have about 140 channels. It has AM & SSB. It has talked from CA to Cleveland and many other long distance contacts. It puts out...- fulltimer
