The wife. She always gets that far-away look in her eyes when we see a late 80's, early 90's F-350 4x4. She kinda likes "Mona" my '88 F-250 but she complains that the clutch return springs are too strong. Says it hurts her knee. I think it could launch a smaller person right out the rear...- TomO

I believe that's true. My theory is that the manufacturers were striving to find a way to make their 4wd vehicles more appealing to a larger and more diverse set of people. In order to sell more vehicles, they needed to eliminate some of the things that made those vehicles better for off-road...- TomO

Cars is just easier to type than automobiles or vehicles. If you mean Sport Utility Vehicles, none of them are good for any sport that I know of, and with the exception of my F250, none are very utilitarian either. Just try to load a ton of rock into any of them. In my book, they're all cars...- TomO

Pics of offroad light!
This is what my KJ had when I bought her. It's just bumper jewelry really. I'd hate to see what happens if I tried to actually push anything with it. It's destined to be scrapped when I start trying to build a real 4wd out of her. But, it provides a place to mount the lights. I don't know...- TomO

Air bag light.
It's not exactly a simple system there. I would start by looking into connections between the OCM ( Occupant Classification Module ) ( really?) and the bladder assembly in the front passenger seat. I'm getting this information from the owners manual BTW. Both drivers and passengers should...- TomO

1st as granny gear or not?
I'm talking about the 5 speed manual tranny that came stock with the '04 Liberty and 3.7L engine and starts on-the-road under normal conditions. I bought the ELM 327 Bluetooth scan tool from some Internet supplier a while back. When coupled with Torque, an app for Android, it makes a pretty nice combination. I can get real-time fuel economy and even horsepower readings right on my phone. About $25.00 for everything.- TomO
