Yeah, the mechanical fan is on a viscous clutch. It's full of fluid, and when the fluid warms up, it increases pressure and the fan spins faster. That's a lot of miles, but if it's not making noise, I'd probably leave it alone. Let sleeping dogs lay, and all that. True, but most also have 4 wheel discs where the XJ had drums in the rear, so I would think it evens out somewhat. I'd say my Liberty stops about the same as my XJ did, although the XJ may have only seemed to stop as fast as it did because it would bottom out the front shocks if you really...- nullptr

Finally finished the speakers/amp install... at 2am. :blah: Seriously running new speaker wire is a huge pain and you should probably pay someone to do it unless you enjoy that kind of thing. Oil leak
Check the oil to make sure it's not turning milkshaky. Hopefully it's like TypeRx says, but if you overheated and it's now leaking... first thing that jumps to mind is 'head gasket'. :( Hopefully it's not!- nullptr

Finished installing the new speakers, amp, and chromecast to the AppRadio. Haven't set up my phone to work with it yet, but the radio is looking for a sync and sees the chromecast signal as valid, so high hopes. Man, these new speakers are a lot better than the old Infinities! No distortion...- nullptr

Ah, yep, inspection plate. :) Best bet is to clean the engine, it'll be a lot easier to find the leak once you get all the grime and gunk of a decade+ off it.- nullptr
