No, I painted both of them... badly. :gr_grin: Biggest benefit to the new piece is that it attaches with a screw at the bottom, so it's more securely in place, as well as the cubby is now wide enough for my cell phone. You have my interest as well.- nullptr

Ok, here's a comparison... The first one is the stock METRA kit's faceplate. This is the faceplate from the other kit, ignoring it's crappy paintjob. Note that I was wrong, it's not a pure drop-in replacement, I need to pull it and lower the 'rear' of the stereo down some so that it sits...- nullptr

What did you do to your jeep today?
Drove 19 hours from just north of Flint Michigan to Daytona Beach, FL, straight through. According to the EVIC, I averaged 20.0 mpg for the trip (up there, from Flint to the UP, backwoods UP, back down to Flint, then Florida). I don't think that's half bad. I got gas in SC for $1.86 on Saturday. Today I'm near Munising Mi, fuel is 2.49 :( I've put 3500 miles on her since the last oil change, oil looks good and is dead on the full line. 62 miles until 80k! I think the Jeep likes it here in northern Michigan. :icon_smile:- nullptr

Learned that, on a steep enough hill, cruise control will use engine braking. It was rather shocking when it suddenly seemed to downshift. Just as an update, I also went ahead and purchased one of the other mounting kits from eBay. You know, the one's that are still $134 on Amazon with the radio mounting to the faceplate? Well, you can get them on eBay now for about $34... And it's a direct faceplate swap. Using the radio mounts...- nullptr

Ok, so both fans work? If you have a clutch fan, you have HD cooling (wait, maybe not, '03s may have both either way). There should be an electric one in front of the clutch fan as well. More than likely it's low on coolant. It's 11 years old at this point, even if it doesn't have a leak, no...- nullptr

Two things to check. 1) Does the electric fan on the radiator come on when the AC is on? If the AC is on, the fan should be on. If it's not, then there is no air flow over the condenser coil, and you'll get what you've got. If the fan doesn't come on even when the engine is hot, then the fan...- nullptr
