    Got a friend in need

Best of luck with that! Top of the Hill on Vienna off McKinley used to be decent, as did Oliver's Garage on Seymour and Frances. Neither myself nor my parents, who still live up there, have any recent dealings with either of them though.

    METRA double-din KJ kit?

Off the top of my head I can't say. I may be able to check Friday though, since I should have some free time to take it back apart.

autotran stuck on 2nd not 1st gear

Hard to say, it could be anything from a bad sensor to a failing transmission. Sadly the Jeep TCM codes aren't available online, as far as I've been able to find. Your only hope may be a dealership.

    HOW TO: Change Spark-Plugs

Someone has thin skin. :happy175: Good luck with those plugs, I've not run any in mine, but I had bad experience with them in my old BMW. Put the new plugs in, and within 3 months it was misfiring and throwing CELs like crazy. Ripped them out and tossed some coppers in, and it ran great after...

    Going Renegade

I need to get some of those.

07 Liberty Window Lift Plate Question

Ugh. Sorry, thinking the power window plate, not the rear. My bad.

    Evap Parts Unknown

Oh that's a fun one. Basically there is a small leak somewhere in the EVAP system. Any number of hoses, fittings, or solenoids could have a leak. Short of getting really lucky in a visual inspection and spotting it, you're pretty much stuck taking it somewhere for a 'smoke test'. They basically...

    Tranny woes... Need ideas!

Can't help you, sadly, but it does sound like you're looking in the right places. Best of luck!

07 Liberty Window Lift Plate Question

I don't think you can just buy the factory plate, but the upgraded metal ones are pretty cheap on eBay.

    Transfer Case or Differential?

    Accidentally double posted. Oops!

    Transfer Case or Differential?

Yikes! Don't do that! Do not drive in part time 4wd on pavement with the 241 case! The front and rear diffs get locked together since you don't have a full time (242) transfer case, you're going to get driveline binding! Which can sound somewhat like what is in the video, basically random...

    Lighter Socket Power

Actually did that with my dash cam wiring. Tapped into the stereo with an add-a-circuit, it was stupid simple. Then I cut the cigarette lighter off and wired up a dual USB power port.

Pump shuts off every gallon or less

It won't. In fact, it makes it worse. Mine used to splash out but ran at all speeds, including fast. Once I did the fix, it no longer splashes, but only runs at slow speed. :blah:

What did you do to your jeep today?

Want to get a set of those, some day. I know, purely cosmetic, but they look cool.

    Rough running

Yep, those are misfire codes... for lots of cylinders. Change the plugs to start out with since those are cheap and probably need it anyway, make sure they are gapped correctly. :)

Partial and full 4 wheel drive

I have the 242 as well, but I can't really disagree with this. The Full Time option really is 4wd for dummies, and it's not as good as the part-time option for off road due to the clutches allowing slippage. That said, when I drive up to Michigan for the winter, I'll probably get some use of...

How many miles on your KJ

82,510 miles on my '05, purchased with 75,650 back in January of this year. Looking forward to another 100k! I've seen as low as 14.3 city with mine, although I get right around 19.5 highway at 75mph cruise (after 19 hours of highway cruise). I wonder of that Flowmaster Jbergun has is making...

Few more questions from the FNG Jeep'er...

This. You can change the fluid and filter yourself, but without a flush machine you won't be getting all of it. I got my transmission filter changed, and the transmission flushed, at the dealer for about $250. They also did the power steering fluid (flush/fill), which quieted down the pump...

    Air Intake Resonator Question

Yep, breather hose, not PCV hose. That goes to the airbox. Derp.

Even if you tape it on, you'll still need to drill a hole for the wiring.
