Anyone clean their MAF?
The CRD has a MAF sensor - don't think anyone has cleaned one - seems that if you disconnect it - the EGR stops working..... darn....... (it also has a MAP sensor that has to be cleaned to keep Turbo response up - any generic solvent - brake cleaner to plain diesel works - just cleaning 1/2...- ATXKJ

Compressing front struts
FYI - Advance Auto sells these (not the rentals) and they worked great on CRD coils and OME790's (500lb/in) http://www.amprotools.net/product_list.aspx?productid=754&partnerid=32&categoryid=5&mode=show- ATXKJ

pinion reset
You need the dealerships computer to talk to your computer - shouldn't take more than a few minutes - but depending on the dealership - it's been anywhere from free to 1 hour labor charge. (and I have 2 dealerships that say it can't be done)- ATXKJ

Newbie needs help with Daystar 2 1/2 lift
The front will physically bolt together with stock struts - the rear has to have the longer shocks. Your Jeep will really appreciate Ranchos on both ends - that's probably the cheapest way to go. and add the extended bumpstops to try and keep the front spring from killing themselves. Yay I broke my transmission.
Danoid over on LOST is a Chrysler transmission engineer - he explained that it was originally designed as a 4 speed - and they figured out after the fact that they could make it a 5 speed. And yes there are different part numbers - but the different part numbers assemble in the same clusters as...- ATXKJ

One of the guys over on LOST had the cold weather one - I think it was 'Maggiolina Extreme' - he really liked it. he was from Alaska and felt like the extra height helped with the bears (his dog stayed in the Jeep - so it barked when one came close anyway)- ATXKJ

255-70-R16 BFG KM2 with OME Medium Duty Coils
the 245/255/265 numbers are section width, the widest part of the tire - but that's not what rubs - the tread rubs -and most companies don't tell you the tread width. I've had 245/75/16's that didn't hit the pinch weld at all and 245/75/16's that rubbed on every turn - different tread styles -...- ATXKJ

CRD lift pump
also on LOST is the part number for the new fuel head - they work fairly well (no one's reported a fail yet) and you can get it from Mopar Parts America for ~$100 filter included.- ATXKJ

Bumpstops - on an On the top type lift they keep the strut from bottoming out on the internals - on a spacer or spring lift - they keep the springs from going metal to metal coil bind - (which kills the springs - causes sagging)- ATXKJ

HOW TO: Pound pinch welds, stop fender rubbing...
Yes - the pinch weld - keeps 2 panels of the body together and keeping it sealed keeps water away from the interior. if you want to cut it - you should weld a flat plate that joins both panels. one of the guys over at LOST did that -

Idling low and parking
I'm very confused about the 'in gear and rolling away' - if it's really in gear - then rolling should cause the engine to turn over - it would be very obvious (and fairly hard to do) if it's just rolling away - it's not really in gear.- ATXKJ

how to compress OME HD
The OME HD's are about the same as the CRD coils - when I first tried I broke one compressor and had problems with a second - ended up paying a shop to compress them. Then when I got the OME 790's - I used an Ampro T70570 compressor with a 1/2 rachet and it worked. - Advance Auto sells them...- ATXKJ

Questions about Daystar 2.5" lift kit.
I had a Daystar and the springs sagged because I did not have bumpstops. so yes you need them (unless you stay on flat ground) and the Daystar KJ09115BK has them (the 9116 does not) (FYI the OME is much better - and it really doesn't cost that much more - because you should upgrade the...- ATXKJ
