As said before, with a 3-3.5" lift those tires will likely rub. Different tread patterns equate to different actual diameters, meaning a tire listed at 31" my be closer to 30-30.5". Either way, you'll likely rub on the sway bar or pinch weld before anything else. I'm just a hair UNDER 3" and...
I agree that it's your tire pressure being too high. It's unlikely that you'd have to run different air pressure that other tires, but it's not impossible I suppose - just never heard of it.
And you are correct about a bad alignment can/will cause uneven wear. If the top of your tire is...
Just to reiterate what Tom said - skip the 925's and the 926's at get the HD 927's up front. They will NOT give you a harsh ride at all. I have the 927's and friggin love them....
Try easy things first before you start replacing parts. Like you said, check for the cracked hoses back by the fuel tank, those hoses are dirt cheap and easy to replace. Don't be quick to assume that a TPS code means your TPS is bad - could be a misleading code due to another problem. I had...
The problem with removing the fenders is as Tom said, it exposes a lot of the ugly unibody. It's not like with the wranglers where you remove the fender, slap on a set of flat fenders and it looks 100x better. There's a thread somewhere her or on lost (cant remember) where a guy was making a...
Some say Ironman rides a little better. I went from regular Ironman springs to heavy duty OME springs up front and honestly couldn't tell that much difference. OME springs will give an extra 1/4 to 1/2" over the Ironman's.
My slightly worn Duratrac 245/75r16 on a stock wheel has about 3/4" of clearance to the bumper. You'd have to have a wheel with even less backspacing than a stock wheel to have fitment issues.
This^^^^^^
I have an Ironman/OME lift for my daily driver and we have a couple of stock KJ's here at work and I agree that the stock ride is miserable compared to my lifted KJ. I'll ride around in a stock KJ for a couple hours then hop in mine to go home and it's soooooooo much better. MUCH...
I'm lifted about 3" in the rear and have the shorter length shocks and they bottom out with minimal flex (i.e. pulling into parking lots at an angle). If I did any off roading and really flexed it out I'm sure I would blow them out pretty easily. Eventually I'll get the longer shocks, but for...
They make different sizes of UCA's - smaller ones for non-lifted KJ's and bigger ones for lifted KJ's. Even if you dont lift your KJ go with the JBA's if you're planning to keep the jeep for an extended period of time. They are just as expensive as OEM stock UCA's but they are rebuildable (OEM...
If you're just going with the basic 2" lift up front the UCA's aren't necessary. If you need to replace the stock UCA's anyways then go for it. You dont need the JBA's until you're around 2.75-3" of lift
Sorry if this has been asked.....
How does the EVIC calc the avg mgp? Is it calculated from last reset? Or does it only store the last 100 miles or so?
