Jeep vs. deer...+1 for the deer

I argued with the insurance company over this, but they said that it's repairable. The guy at the body shop was saying he never saw deer blood from an incident before. Plus, the vehicle is worth 15k (roughly) and has over 8k in damage. I don't get it.

Jeep vs. deer...+1 for the deer

I'm not sure if it cracked the engine block, but it's getting all new pullies and everything else forward. The airbag system seems pretty intellgent by what was posted above. Maybe it sensed the extra girth behind the steering wheel. O:) I'm sure they checked the tansmission though. Is...

Jeep vs. deer...+1 for the deer

She was probably going around 50 at the time of impact, but the deer was huge. Here's a couple pics about 8 hours after the accident. Nice Rack!!! (can I say that?)

She saw the deer, slammed on the brakes, impacted and skidded some more.

Jeep vs. deer...+1 for the deer

It destroyed everything from the grill to the engine block. The wiring harness that runs to the front was cut, the battery had a huge hole in it, the power steering res. was smashed, a/c, condensor, intake box, everything, done. I wonder why the airbags didn't pop though. That really concerns me.

She's ok, shaken but not stirred. She's 8 months pregnant, so they had to do a sonogram yesterday to be sure everything was okay with the baby. What is this bumper that you speak of? the stocker is 400 big ones.

Jeep vs. deer...+1 for the deer

A huge six point buck ran in front of my wife while on her way to work. Dead deer and dead Libby. 8k in damage, and they didn't total it. The upper radiator's spot welds didn't hold up well, and the air bags didn't pop.

Help. Taller tires=lower rpms, but also lower mpg??

This has always boggled my mind. If you're turning less rpms, shouldn't you be getting better fuel economy? How much extra power would be needed to turn a taller tire? I'm running a 225-75, which is minimally taller.

Turbo lag on CRD .. can one improve the response

A larger turbo back exhaust is a must for slowing turbo lag; it will also help create higher boost levels. I put a 3" stainless TBE on my Subaru and it's one of the best mods to date. I'm not sure how the Jeeps are laid out, but a short-ram intake (replaces the stock snorkel) will also help...

    Advice: Subaru vs Jeep

I own both a Subaru (04 Impreza WRX wagon) and a Jeep (see sig below) so I don't know what to tell you. I'll give you some facts and let you decide. Subaru Pros: First and foremost- fuel economy. Our Liberty has been averaging 16-18 MPG, my first Subaru (2000 Legacy Outback) averaged 25-27...

    Hit by lightning...

Wow. I wouldn't be surprised if your insurance company totalled it. I don't think simply throwing a new computer will make it run, it sounds like there are some more serious electrical issues. Even if a new computer does make it run, I have a feeling that the future of this vehicle will be...

    check engine light

As soon as you find the problem, let us know. I had the same code, found a cracked hose, replaced it, and still have the problem. The guy a the parts store said it could be the gas cap, so I plopped down $8. No, that's not the problem. Like someone else said, 0422 is more likely the gas cap.

    2 ohm and 4 ohm amps/subs.

Your amp output will depend on the impedance of the speaker and there is no setting (unless you have a dual-voice coil speaker) to change the impedance. The reason for different impedance speakers (2 ohm vs. 4 ohm etc.) is to properly match the output power of your amp. If your speaker is only...

    Check Engine Light problem found

I was getting error code P0455- "A large leak has been detected in the evaporative system". I checked the canister, and all seemed well. I started the Jeep and crawled underneath and I heard a loud hissing sound from under the left side. I felt around and noticed an air leak from what...
