So true. :)
But with a Jeep and it's real 4WD (KJ/KK) system it doesn't matter because they do so well anyway even stock that it's not really needed. :banana-mario:
Not like with a Ram 1500 or something that run 265/70/17's Stock size and the options of taller and wider tires are greater.
Actually he was correct in a way....
Wider tires do help with pavement traction like on sports cars etc as they have more contact area with the road.
Also on sand because they will float on top, and really deep snow (Powder) with really wide tires, they will float on top also....
Also mud...
Understandable, life does get in the way.
Smart going with a new transmission, the old might have worked for a short period of time, but you would have been replacing it before long I believe.
425-500 HP should be nice. :)
OH I bet that was pretty bad... :D
I wouldn't want to drive it...... Drove too many uncontrollable peoples ideas over the years.
On the Boss Hoss I bet that was fun, 450-500 HP isn't too bad, lots of fun usually. :D
Always loved those guys who dropped 454's in Vegas.. ;)
Would find them in...
OH I know, I was being conservative. :D
Weak parts like not having a real frame under it so it could possibly get twisted from the torque from an engine with some real power. That and blowing the transmission and drive shafts apart.....
I remember being involved in putting a 413 Wedge in a...
That's because doing it right and keeping it legal isn't cheap....
That would be getting a crate motor and updated electronics, fuel injection system etc and having it done by professionals.
Not too many people with that kind of spare coin that are willing to do it and or have Jeep Liberty's...
It would really have to be built 1st, and if I was doing it I would go with a Supercharger over a turbo.....
But then realistically I would rather have it rebuilt just to give around 300 HP or so as the KJ is pretty light so some thing that would be controllable and reliable.
But then with...
I think it would be better and cheaper in the long run to have the 3.7L rebuilt and modified for more performance. That or get a 3.7L crate engine from Mopar and have that one built.
The only concern then would be if the transmission and the other drive train parts could handle the increased...
That would be the easiest and cheapest way for sure.....
Don't know why anyone would want a manual anyway.......
Automatic is better for driving and wheeling..... :imo:
Had both over the years in different types of vehicles and a manual gets to be a pain in the neck depending on were most of...
The problem is around where I live (Raleigh) they have black topped all of the gravel/dirt roads. So in retrospect I have to drive around 2 to 3 hours to get in the dirt for the most part these days... (banghead)
Thanks to the others tearing up peoples land, racing down the gravel/dirt roads...
