Timing belt is due every 100k. 05 had more issues than 06. With a high possibility that I'd have to chang the timing belt, I'd pay no more than $3k at auction.
You don't need a new head unit if all you need is s CD player and RCAs. You can get an amp with balanced inputs and wire it directly to the head unit. A $100 Kenwood deck won't "sound" any different than what's already there.
Air in the fuel lines. Probably from the fuel head. Prime and bleed.
I'm not sure why people come up the most least-likely scenarios to troubleshoot a problem.
The stock Optima effed off in 2 years. The yellow top Optima I replaced it with effed off in 2 years. Optimas are a ticking timebomb of suk waiting to explode into a cloud of asstasm without warning.
It's still a 5yr old thread responded to by the original Al who bailed after reports of arms snapping started coming in. Luckily, no one was killed. Just sayin'
