The key to a long CRD life is to ignore the advice you get from the experts over on LOST CRD forum.
I had them on mine for 3 years with a 2.5" lift and I actually go off road. I re-geared after the first year but the extra awesomeness of the CRD was able to compensate.
I painted mine with Rustoleum Hammered. Sand the powder coat until its dull, spray primer and go cat go.
Leaving it gray powder coat is not what a serious enthusiast would do.
I had a Frankelift II 2.5" lift and 32" tires and logged more offroad miles on actual terrain in my KJ than anyone who will respond to this thread. Everything else was stock... no red powder coated anything, no shaved anything and no extra conduit anythings so I can look super cool at the mall...
