Mine isn't very heavy. Maybe 1500 lbs. It is a 16 ft Shasta aluminum with a 30 Hp Yamaha outboard, 2 batteries and and a trolling motor. It is outfitted for bass, trout, salmon and rock fishing. Does about 30 mph with me and my wife in it.
It is just that my Toyota wouldn't pull it at 55 up a...
Yesterday, i hooked up the boat to the Jeep for the first time since I bought the Jeep in December. Took it for a test pull. Went up and down some pretty step hills to see how she would do. It sure is no comparison to my 93 Toyota SR5 Xtra cab. I got on it at the bottom of a hill, and was doing...
Pulled the radiator. Dealership said the part was under warranty, but not the labor, so I did it myself. I am glad I did. When I pulled the tranny lines off the radiator, I found the fluid was black. I got the 2 new tranny filters and ATF+4 fluid as well as new G-05 Zerex antifreeze and went to...
My radiator started leaking on Sunday after church. I get out of church and see it leaking right there. A puddle about 1 foot in diameter. Remember, this is a brand new radiator with only about 1000 miles on it.. I looked around and found it was leaking at the joint where the aluminum meets the...
Is that something you bought, or did you make it, or was it a kit? That is exactly what I want to do with my trailer. Just haven't found out how to do it just yet.
Sounds about like what I get with 75/25 city/hwy. Best way to check though, is fill up and zero the trip odometer. Drive for at least 1/2 to 3/4 tank and then fill up. Divide the number of miles by the total gallons of gas, and you'll get a more accurate average.
My p303 error was very similar to the ops. My leak down was similar too. Ended up being a valve guide issue. That being said, they knew about the oil leak from scoping the cylinder. They could see oil on top of the poison.
For the ops problem... More diagnostics are needed to be sure this is...
The above link goes to my thread about the Powertrain products reman engines. Although I did run into a few issues with the engine, they warrantied it and paid the shop for their labor under their defect warranty. I did buy the no-fault warranty and it is still in effect. It is 5 years or a...
I had no idea. That's awesome! I never read that on this or any other site about it. I almost bought a code scanner today too. Glad I didn't. I did go to Autozone on my lunch hour and had them scan it. Found it pointed to the gas cap. I opened the fuel door and touched the gas cap and it fell...
Drove my Jeep in 99* weather, to the Doctor yesterday, and the check engine light came on. I have to take it to autozone and have them check the code for me. Crimeny! Does it ever end? The temp was below half on the gage and the engine sounds fine. No missing or knocking or nothing.
Here is what I did on Saturday. I added D rings to the front end.
Here are the parts laid out.

You see the small rectangle piece? I used that inside the tube frame as added backing stability. Then the Triangleish piece with three holes is used to sort...
Got the passenger side 2" drop hitch today, and will install it tomorrow as a recovery point. Just need to get grade 8 bolts, and source the "D" shackles. Then I can possibly fabricate a whinch mount from there.
