Thanks for the salvage yard tips. I was pretty sure it was toast, but I was looking for a second opinion. I think I will call off work tomorrow to make the adventure.- hbushell

long time lurker first time poster I finally got the gumption to rebuild the rear axle on my 06 KJ Liberty 196,000 miles, 60k are mine. Same I didn't catch a picture beforehand but yes the contact in the bezel/ housing got hot and the contact melted and sunk into where the socket contact could not reach it. whittled at it with a knife until I could get underneath it to pry it up.- hbushell
