    4x4 shifting issue

Okay! I got the bushing in place. 4WD is working. I dropped the bushing once and it appeared to have completely vanished. I found in on top of the cross member. I also found the clip I dropped the other day on it. Thanks, everyone for your input regarding this issue.

    4x4 shifting issue

It's at the transfer case. There's just no way the part I got is going into the eyelet on the end of the shift rod. The diameter is way to big. I went to O'Reilly Auto Parts and I think I got what I needed. I"ll find out tomorrow when I attempt to install it. At least the Jeep is mobile now.

    4x4 shifting issue

I got my Jeep moving. The part I ordered was wrong. I ordered the JL1Kit1 as suggested above. It was way to big to go into the hole for the pin. The part I need is only the center bushing. It's like the part in this video. Anyway, I decided to try something just to get it to go. I put the...

    4x4 shifting issue

I had to wait for the rain to stop but I finally got under the jeep to take a look and it is indeed the linkage is disconnected. I was trying to get a hitch pin on it to hold it in place so I could at least move it. It's very tight in there and I couldn't get a good angle to push it on. I'm...

    4x4 shifting issue

So, I've got the Jeep on jack stands but I can't seem to find where the transfer case linkage is. I may be looking in entirely the wrong place. Any help identifying the location is greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the quick reply, RenKJ. I'll have to crawl under it tomorrow and take a look.

    4x4 shifting issue

Okay, here's the issue. I was having difficulty shifting in and out of four wheel drive the other day. Today I had to move my Jeep to shovel snow, so I backed down the driveway. I then attempted to put the transmission into four wheel drive. I moved the shifter and there was tension on it then...

    No heat while idling

Good luck! I hope that's all it is. I wouldn't wish changing a heater core on anyone after what I went through.

    No heat while idling

I'm sorry to hear that you have this issue because you may not want to hear this. I don't want to put a scare into and here's hoping it's not the case but but do you smell coolant? Monitor your coolant level and see if it goes down. It may be imperceptible at first. I had that same issue last...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I replaced the clock spring a couple of weeks ago. Replaced the heater blower motor resistor today. The fan works on all four speeds now for the first time in years.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I installed a new clock spring. I watched a video on Youtube on how to do it. It took the dude in the video a few hours to get the steering wheel bolt off so I was a bit apprehensive. He finally got it off with an air impact. I removed the air bag, two screws and three wires and the nut turned...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I just did the driver side rear door on mine about a month ago. Mine was the same style as the first picture in your post. If that is the one currently in your door, go with it. It was a breeze compared to the heater core/dashboard fiasco. It still took a bit of finagling to get it inside the...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Thanks for the tip, Turbo. I was unaware of that. I'm still considering just swapping out the steering column because I've never pulled a steering wheel before and I don't know how difficult it is. Plus messing with airbags makes me nervous. But then again, I just removed the entire dash of my...

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

It hasn't been pulled yet. If I went that route, I'd tell the guy to lock it in place. I'd like to think the guy knows what he's doing. I asked him for just the clock spring but he told me he doesn't sell just the clock spring. I priced them and they ain't cheap.

Myriad of issues after replacing heater core.

Definitely is. Everything works except the cruise control and the airbag light is on. The cruise control doesn't work because the clock spring. I can get a whole steering column for 70 bucks from the bone yard. I wonder if that is a good idea though I do get a 90 day warranty. The gray plug is...
