I dont hear any rattle from mine. A while back I had an intermittent rattle from the driver side that i thought was that CV wobble.
During the heat of covid i replaced almost evrything underneath the front: CVs, all balljoints, tie rods, steering rack and differential bushings, wheel bearings...
How do you feel about a KK lifted to 23" hub-to fender? I know its "5 inches" but I dont see how the KJ can be lifted higher just because the stock suspension was higher
And of course, this would be with a lift similar to the JBA coilovers
Would 4" mean 22" hub center to fender flare or 23"?
Honestly if the CVs last 50k, I'd be happy with that
And thanks, i forgot about the ESP! Ive heard there are "tuners" that can fix this for the grand cherokees, I wonder if theres something for the liberty
I dont have the suspension on yet...
I have heard tommudd say before hes ran a KJ with a 4.5 lift in the front with no cradle drop. If the KJ has a stock hub-center-to-fender of 19", does that mean after the lift it was at 23.5"?
If the KK has 18" stock fender height, is it possible to get it up to 23.5" too (+5.5??)??
I would be...
I currently have an OME lift like most others on here
The Fox coilover setup is a bit different, its similar to the JBA adjust-a-strut lift that features ride-height adjustable coilovers. Also the smaller diameter springs allow for more height without the spring hitting the control arm
I'm going down the road of a ATHFab style Fox coilover lift. Morgan plasma cut a set of the top plates and spring perches and Ive just welded them together.
These are the part numbers ive gathered so far:
Shock options (5" travel):
Theres a very good thread on LostJeeps written by ifhoward on the HD cooling fan for KK. This is where i gathered all my information on it
Fan blades: 55038108AA
Fan Clutch: 55038106AA
The install was relativly simple, but im not sure how the install goes for the KJ.
is the D30A limited to only 4.10 or is it just a carrier break?
I had issues with my transmission getting hot while offroading in deep snow. I threw on an HD cooling fan and even on 90 degree days offroading it keeps cool. I do use 4low almost all the time while offroading for the extra torque
The tire size alone going from 29" (stock) to 32 only decreases torque 10%. This will make a difference, but more importantly added weight and reduced aerodynamics make a larger impact. My KKs weight without passengers or inside gear is 5200lbs. The added weight (tires, front and rear bumpers...
I run 32s without an axle regear on my KK
It was getting a little too hot while offroading
The "crawl home" mode and trans temp indicator light comes on at 270
I had that light come on, and after that did all the research I could
From what I've gathered, the KKs trans cooler is part of the AC...
I figured it would be of use to someone to know that I have found a decent alternative for 4" rear springs since nobody advertises them anymore
First off, gotta give OME credit. I had no idea they had an applications catalog with all their spring specs in it :D
Here's a link to it...
