What did you do to your jeep today?

We put on about 450 miles, yesterday. All for a ten minute eye appointment for our dog (she had her eye slashed by a cat when she was a puppy). All was good… Same time next year… I was thinking about the rust that’s taking over my jeep, and started remembering all of my past cherokee forum...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I armor-alled the dash, console, and front door panels tonight. I haven’t wiped it out for a couple years, and it was in bad shape. I need to get a steering wheel cover to cover all the grime, too. Cleaning it off is too hard, and it looks like crap underneath.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Unfortunately, my test light says there’s no power to it period. I wish it would have been that simple! I’ll tackle it another day.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I ohmed out my cluster, and everything was good. I identified the “bad wire,” and I traced it to the main plug for the rear lights, which is behind the rear right paneling. My trailer lights harness tees into there. I have no voltage out of the pin that goes to said light bulb.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I’m working on tracing my tail light issue (my left running lamp is not getting power). Also, just last night that turn signal was acting up. It was acting like it was burnt out, so I got the rapid blink, but it also would go back to normal. I have that working. I think it was just a loose...

I was on the roof at work today. I couldn’t resist.

What did you do to your jeep today?

&$€%#!!! I got whacked by a big rock on my way home from work, today. It must have been oblong or jagged and hit twice. I think one hit my headlight, too. There’s a decent pock-mark on the lens, and I definitely heard multiple hits. Luckily, the inner layer of glass stayed intact.

What did you do to your jeep today?

My ‘90 XJ was quick, even with the “non-HO” 4.0L. It had the NP242 t-case, and it was nimble as could be on snowy streets. I could do some Ken Block stuff with it. All that low end grunt was great.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Johnny, I hear you on the no car payments and easy to repair. I’d also like to add that googling repairs/parts are easy. I was thinking back to when I had my Cherokees. Google X-repair for Jeep Cherokee, and you get your results, plus every generation of Grand Cherokee. So, you google Jeep XJ...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Thanks, it was a happy accident. My wife’s lime green and white kayak kind of ruins it :D

What did you do to your jeep today?

I’ve got some scrap 1/2” plywood that the previous home owner used as shelving that I’ll use.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I just had an idea. I might make a fold-down shelf that attaches inside the swing gate. Hinges at the bottom, and jack chain or cord to support it.

What did you do to your jeep today?

If mine didn’t have such a bad tick, I’d be fixing the rockers as you plan on doing. Unfortunately, I think mine are further gone than yours.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I’m so glad ducking isn’t a thing in my neck of the woods. It reminds me of a post on FB, though. A girl ducked this guy’s jeep, and she went into the store. On her return, she was met with the same duck back on her jeep, only it had been decapitated :D

Something about it being right under the oil filter area… :D

What did you do to your jeep today?

I had a good time fishing. The “wheeling” was subpar. The old forest roads are a lot nicer than I remember. I pulled off on my way out to make a quick ramen noodle lunch.

I know if you’re in 4 Low, you can start the engine without pushing the clutch it. I’m guessing that’s what the “transmission range” block is in the upper diagram. I highly doubt my haynes book will show anything different, but I will look.

What did you do to your jeep today?

I’ll keep that in mind, Sota. I went to the range and then tried a couple forest roads near it. I got a little muddy, but nothing crazy. Mostly, the roads were just lopey. Tomorrow, I’m going fishing, and I might find some more entertaining roads.
