Train Derailment New Jeep's Onboard !

The population of Lincoln county is 5,000 people. They may well have no tow companies out there. No junkyards, etc. That's why they will have to go into Henderson. Or elsewhere. Same here. Rural counties with few people and no services, no big stores, etc. It's all growing but still...

Train Derailment New Jeep's Onboard !

I imagine they have insurance that takes them, and gets someone to do something with them. Scrapped out, and yes, some get back on the street with a salvage title, but ... ALL NEW!

    Front Crossmember

I have gone thru' the parts catalog and that is the right number for the crossmember. But I don't see the bolts. There is no index on the parts list. Just 520 pages to thumb thru' to try to find anything. dc

    Front Crossmember

There is also some type of bracket or such that sits under the transfer case on the crossmember. It has 3 or 4 bolts coming downward into the crossmember at the center point. That looks to have no rust on it, but the bolts are quite rusty. There I only want to replace the bolts. dc

    Front Crossmember

My front crossmember, under the transfer case is rusty. I want to replace it. It looks like moparwholesaleparts has it. $45. Not a bad price. For a new one. I suppose they will also have the bolts. They are rusty also. What about the nuts which appear to be welded into the frame? Will...

    2011 oil filter removal help

Yes, that is the way I did it on my 08. Remove front grille and driver's side headlight. The big issue is getting the front grille off. You have to pull on it to where you think you will break it. But you don't. It just twangs off. There are a couple videos out there on it. There is also...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Jacked up the rear end with the new Harbor Freight Daytona 3 ton jack. It weighs 80 lbs, so I also got a Harbor Freight hand cart to roll it around on. Also Walmart Torin Black Jack 3 and 6 ton jack stands. Took off rear passenger wheel. Confirmed it does have a slow leak but no nail or...

Yeah, in the good old days they would just unscrew. The good old days are gone. dc

    Scan Tools

What I found is that many of the devices say they are bi directional, but it turns out only for some very few cars. And some say program tpms and key fobs, but again only for a very limited number of cars. One was honest in one place and said key fobs but only certain Asian cars. And you know...

What did you do to your jeep today?

Charged the battery. And got the Autel Maxicom MK808. We may have weather nice enough to get it onto the Jeep on Sunday. More snow predicted for Saturday night, so maybe not. I hope also on Sunday to get it up on jack stands and start on transfer case fluid, then transmission and front and...

    Survival Kit List

I don't see anything wrong with a guy bringing his unicycle, if he wants to. I never carry an extra jack. I only intend to use my LIberty to pull my Honda Rancher 420 on a trailer. It has a winch, but I'm not sure that the Rancher could pull a car or Liberty even one foot. Just not enough...

Help! 02 key pulls out of ignition in any position

I can't debate you on that. There's some good aftermarket, and some bad. But there's also dirt cheap, and total junk. Not worth putting on. dc

Help! 02 key pulls out of ignition in any position

That's the way to do it. But just remember, cheap parts usually wear out fast, and quality parts usually (sometimes) last longer. dc

    Plug Change, A Major Change?

Yes, I finally got them all out and new ones in. I did go with the .43, or .043, or .0043, somewhere around there. And got it all back together and it does run. I haven't put any miles tho'. Maybe 3? I don't want to put much til I have looked at all fluids. And got the wheels off the...

    Opening Door for Door Lock

Well the first set of hands didn't work. So I got another set. And put him into the hole with the screw driver while I held the glass. He could see it but ended up not being able to release the tab. It ended up looking like he was going to break something but he did say he was just raising...

Best Way to Check 4 Wheel Drive

Yeah, I can hear a very subtle click down mid center when I put it in 4 wheel lock. And the dash light comes on for both 4 wheel and 4 wheel low. So just change all fluids and take it from there. I got so many things to do on this Jeep. I need to make a list and then go in order. I want to...

    Scan Tools

Engine temp is just one of the minor functions that I want to see. I'm concerned about future use, so I don't think I'll spend $899 but around $400. At some point in time I just have to get one and then see what it can and can't do. As to pawn shops I was going to head to one today to sell...

    Scan Tools

Thanks Dadosix I have looked that one over. Mostly looks like it's going for about $899. Which is more than I wanted to spend. I'm looking at some of the Autel's for around $400. But which don't have full TPMS function. dc

    Scan Tools

I read a lot of posts on Lost Jeeps, I think and some mentioned using the Autel DS708 I think it was. They are/were as they are older and been outmoded, but were I think $1,100. I'm looking at some good ones around $400.00, which really is not cheap either. But, I was thinking, if you add up...
