    Pcv & excessive oil

My 02 did not. Breathers ran into the big resonator box sitting in front of the TB.

    Pcv & excessive oil

Not sure 03s had a sponge bob. My 02 did not. Might have started in 04.

    Kumho Road Venture AT51

I'm pretty sure that was it. They were a bit better once I started throwing some weight in the bed but still got interesting on wet roads. I had them in mud and snow and they were decent but wet pave was a challenge.

How Often do I change oil?

just remember that, no matter what OCI you choose, make sure you check your oil every few hundred miles you drive. The greatest oil in the world won't help if you run it low! I go 3-5k no matter what level of oil I use.

    Kumho Road Venture AT51

Agreed on the wear out rate for the Michelins. Had two sets in the past and although great tires in a variety of "stuff" the last set were gone too fast for the price. One set on my 02 KJ lasted well past their rated treadlife but my Ranger subsequently ate a set way too quickly. I'm not in a...

    Kumho Road Venture AT51

That's the only set of them I ever had but thought it was just my light ass Ranger causing the lack of traction. I had other Firestones that were pretty good. I managed to get 50k out of them but would NOT get another set. Like I said, they looked good but not good on traction. I've had good...

    Kumho Road Venture AT51

Good endorsements. I need to replace my Firestone Destination ATs on my Ranger and the Kumho popped up. Not a great fan of the Firestones. They looked good but seemed a bit wonky in my light pickup especially in their current state. Got over 50k on them so I guess they passed their treadlife...

Are there any 3.7 V6 engines that would fit in a 03 Liberty that don't use HOAT?

My 2011 Avenger takes HOAT as does my dad's 2010 Dodge minivan. These of course would not fit in the liberty but they are of the 2010 vintage. I would say no.

05 Liberty, no electrical... dead as a door nail!

Did you check the other ends of the cables? Especially the ground.

Wow an 02 in MI with little rust! That's a good get! Welcome! I miss my 02. I liked it much more than my 05.

Overcharge of battery cutting out instrument cluster

Have them test the new one before you leave the store. I've heard of many people who do this with alternators.

    3.7 fuel mileage

I was getting about 20-21 mpg in my 05. That would be around 410 per tank. I usually filled up at a bit over 350. My 02 was lucky to get 16-17 mpg same route. I would usually fill up around 250 in that one. Tom is right BTW. ;) As usual.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Nice mod. I think I remember Tommudd doing something like that.

    3.7 fuel mileage

If my memory is correct the 05-07 had a 20.5 gallon tank. I know my 05 had the 20.5. The 02-03 had an 18.5 gallon tank and I think the 04 had a 19.5, Weird isn't it. Must be a Jeep thing. KKs were all 19.5 I believe.

Rocker arm falls off how to tell if it's valve spring or seat

Do a compression test. If the valve isn't closed for any reason it won't give compression. If you get good compression then it's probably just a collapsed or bad lash adjuster. If you pull all the plugs and rotate the crank at the crank pulley then you can watch the cam do its job. The exhaust...

Liberty 02 Airbag Recall Module Issue

I was assuming it was a recall of the old recall. That is, the module replacement from the old recall was found not to work properly. Maybe the OP can clarify.

Liberty 02 Airbag Recall Module Issue

I'm with Tom, it wouldn't stop me from driving it. I've driven plenty without but they do serve a purpose when working correctly. I guess if you're afraid of deployment, you could just remove the relay or connector to stop them from ever getting energized. You'll likely get a warning light but...
