and of course, napa lied on their website. the store closed at 6 instead of 7. :( have to wait until tomorrow to get a trans filter kit. i could have been done tonight and test driving it already.- sota

Okay everything is put back on it. The only thing I have to do now is pull the transmission pan and put a new filter in the thing before I fill it up with fluid.- sota

Okay some good news. After clearing the codes because I'm an idiot and didn't make sure one of the connectors was clicked in all the way, I recycled the power on the Jeep and it comes up with no error codes in either the ECU or the tcu. Yes I know, it's the same damn module, but it split...- sota

dead trans has 140k. VLP trans came out of a 174k vehicle, so maybe it's that used? it worked great on the drive back from storage, and I sent a sample of fluid off to blackstone-labs to get a reading on the internals. it didn't look great, but unlike the 140k trans, it didn't smell bad and...- sota

it's been in the air since the day after. i'm 9.75 bolts away from having the trans out: 4 bell housing bolts 5.75 cross member bolts already backed off and reinstalled the cross member ones, but one of them broke off the tip. interestingly it still grabs threads and makes like a bunch of...- sota

While investigating why I now have two wheel speed sensors out, I've discovered that a good portion of my passenger frame rail as decided exit the chat. I touched the rusty spot and a good foot of the rail fell out of the car.- sota

AND! An unintended test of the Vredestein Pinza AT in the snow/slush/ice. Granted we only got 1"-2" of wet melty slushy snow, so nothing killer. Some of the roads though have some ice on them. For an AT all season tire, they did quite well. Only had the plow on the front. Didn't load up...- sota
